Pagan Pride Day Donates 343 Pounds Of Food

Author: Stacey Eidson Source: Metro Spirit (GA)

Title: PAGAN PRIDE DAY DONATES 343 POUNDS OF FOOD
Augusta’s first ever Pagan Pride Day held on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Lake Olmstead gazebo attracted more than 250 people and collected more than 340 pounds of food for It's Spooky to be Hungry.
The festival, which featured a variety of workshops including Wicca 101, Kitchen Witchery and Ask the Wizard, was created by Joseph Zuchowski, a Wiccan high priest who resides in Augusta, and his wife, Jezibell Anat, who is also a local Wiccan high priestess.

Nice to see other groups do this sort of thing! Last year, for our local PAGAN AWARENESS DAY here in Newaygo County, MI, we donated $20 + 2 cases of water to a local Christian food pantry, and with that $20, they bought over 120 lbs of food!! Sometimes, money is better, as most food pantries can buy things much cheaper than the rest of us. Again, nice work to all of you who put this event togather!!

Time to nitpick the article!
*a-HEM* Joe and Jezebel are about as local to Georgia as palm trees are to the Antarctic. They were originally from right here in NYC. Good to know Joe's still keeping at it in spite of setbacks he went through before he left.

That is an accomplishment. Sounds like it was a lot of fun, and notice how the article was short and sweet, and left OUT all those pesky little personal asides regarding idiosyncratic religious philosophy and such. It seems simple enough: put others first, and go about it lightly. That is the magic recipe for growth and enhanced respect, I think.

. . .a short worthwhile story concerning people at a Pagan Pride event donating food for the hungry. Kinda like it. But I'm sure someone, somewhere will nitpick it to death.
