Witchcraft Blamed In Murder Of Sioux City Girls

Author: Denise Hnytka Source: KMEG 14 (IA)

Title: WITCHCRAFT BLAMED IN MURDER OF SIOUX CITY GIRLS
A mother mourns the loss of her two daughters. Their step-father is behind bars tonight accused of their murder.
The sisters were found dead in a second floor room of their Nebraska Street home. Fire crews discovered the bodies while responding to a fire call at the home Sunday afternoon. It was initially ruled suspicious.
But police are now telling KMEG 14 that they believe the girls died before the fire. Their stepfather, Larry Harris, is now charged with two counts of first degree murder.
Police say the girls were found strangled and stabbed in their home. Larry Harris told investigators at the scene that the girls were dead in their room, the victims of witchcraft gone badly.

Supposedly this stepfather claims the deaths was from a " spell gone wrong". and there has been a claim he was a Wiccan.
I've been a Wiccan for more than 25 years and the two girls died from strangulation and stabbing. I have NEVER seen any Wiccan tradition condone strangling OR stabbing.
Dimes to donuts this jerk was sexually abusing the girls.Note the mother was away when this happened and there was a fire-- to cover up the crime, probably.
What " spell" WAS this where he ended up strangling and stabbing two girls? Pardon me for being highly skeptical of his excuse. I bet a good investigation into this matter will show he had more "mundane" reasons to harm the girls. The " witchcraft" excuse is just a cover for what he really was doing.
I'me also a true crime reader so I probably will keep an eye on this case. If this guy did it and there is proof he murdered the girls, throw the book at him.

By the Wiccan Rede we have an obligation to choose our words carefully because they can cause harm even greater than physical weapons. When you say to others that someone did something "bad" or is afflicted with something "bad" if you are not able to prove this to be true you are slandering them, if you put it in print you are libeling them. If your words in the end turn out to be in error you will have damaged their reputation and caused great harm.
Words filled with extremely negative energy can cause great harm.
If I were a newpaper or website I would indeed consider these words as libelous and harmful and remove them.
Choose your words carefully lest ye cause harm to others and yourself.
Blessed Be

...let me put it this way:
I've been exposed to some pretty f*ck*d-up stuff, and still, I know of no spell that can kill someone-- even if you f*ck it up-- unless killing that person was the intent of the spell.
If he's found guilty, SHOOT THE B*ST*RD.
And leave his, my, and everyone else's religion and/or magical practice the h*ll out of it. It's a sensationalist, emotional, stupid trick for avoiding dealing with the real problems.
NO MORE EXCUSES!! NO MORE DEAD BABIES!!

I tried to comment here [Web LINK] and here [Web LINK] this morning but have not seen my comments posted (so far?!) , though I followed proper protocol and decorum.
My last comment read as:
"Fact: Domestic abuse crosses all economic, cultural, religious, and other boundaries.
One of the laws of magic is naming things. News, include informative resources that help spot abuse and protect children rather than mistake correlation for causation. Purposeful ignorance was already involved in the long-term suffering and tragic end of two girls and a family. Enough!"
Let's see if they have the nerve to post my comment...
The newspaper says:
"We will never edit or alter your comments, but we do reserve the right to remove comments that violate our code of conduct. No comment may contain:
Potentially libelous statements.
Obscene, explicit, or racist language.
Personal attacks, insults, or threats.
Commercial product promotions. "
They mentioned racism but what of this?
"...not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, disability, or other legally protected status ..."
Their own article is bent towards encouraging creedism and away from useful information that could help prevent abuse.

If the stepfather killed them it wasn't witchcraft, it was just plain murder--by a nut using witchcraft as some sort of excuse. And the witchcraft angle-of course is the biggest draw, considering the other -related articles to this one meant to say to everyone "that all witchcraft is harmful"-ad infinitum ad nauseum. There are other crimes just like this one, where the boyfriend or the stepfather or the stepmother molests, torments or beats the kids to death. Sometimes it happens in supposedly "good" christian families. There are monsters and jerks to be found in every guise. Lets focus on the crime please, for the sake of those murdered. A witch didn't kill them. A child hater did. And he could be any religion. He certainly wasn't ours- since respect for life was clearly absent.

Have any of you read the article posted by the Sioux City Journal? There were 248 responses posted to it so far and they are simply amazing to read. If the situation wasn't so tragic, many of the responses would be laughable. Check it out. I read them and it's scary how ignorant some people still really are in this day and age.

| Heallin' Needed | Jan 9th. at 10:26:28 am EST

Ahr-Ohn (Bridgeport, Connecticut) - Email Me

Whatever else happened, that family has some heallin' to do; whether or not that step father was the perp, is amongst the things to heal.
It's possible to do a dance of Chaos and Destruction, to touch the chaotic and destructive with some kind of harmony, but this sounds like a transcendental practice, which a collapse of transcendance has thrown off the rails, which can cripple a lot of people, Epilepsy, Migraines, Myalgia and spontaneous human combustion being some of the milder examples. He won't be ready to stand trial, until the healling begins; if he's at all guilty, it's probable that a healling ritual became Sky Clad, which collapsed into Child Sexual Abuse, which had to be (just had to be, regardless of actual need) covered up by murder, which had to be covered up ( and advertised) with Arson, which had to be covered with Cops, which have to be covered by Irresponsibility. Christian Label hasn't been much of an improvement, but a competant healler wouldn't have left this fellow having to go it alone.
"She called them a quiet family that mostly kept to themselves." Yup, this family needs lots of healling. Parents might both be Changelings, or something.
Healling is really a very exploitative magic, where the Minister extends a hand to a victim, of any kind, as a way of increasing the grasp of the World, and people victimize themselves, of be of interest to the Ministers. Ministers should really be interested in others, and simply extend a hand, to whatever heaven brings to hand. Take an interest, in others, regardless of whether they need to gain a more interested perspective, and your healling practice will grow, to a transcendant wealth.
Pro Bono work can be profitable Pro Se, if any lawyer in the area is interested in the Mystery of the Holy Grail. It may have been the Templars, invoking the Magic of Ministry, that developed our modern legal system.

Perhaps everyone has missed this, or simply ignored it. From the very end of the article --
"The girls' mother Marla tells KMEG 14 that her husband told her he was doing a spell for death and destruction to help Marla's third child stay out of trouble. She says she respected her husband's beliefs, but just asked that he not practice them in the house."
According to the article, the husband did NOT tell police that the spell was for "death and destruction" -- but the wife (mother) sure as hell did; it is what is known in Law as "hearsay evidence" -- "he said 'this' and he said 'that' ", without any corroborating evidence to back up the claim of what was said to whom and when it was said. Maybe she just didn't really have any respect for his beliefs at all...and simply lied about it to the police/TV station just to get him arrested/hated/convicted for what she sees as "Satanic Rituals". (based on what the neighbour kid said about the state of un-dress of the two girls, I say that he probably did it while doing something else to them...and it weren't no "witchcraft". by the way, did you all also miss where the article said it was the nieghbour KID, and not the neighbour adult, who witnessed the girls being taken out the window? it's in the second-to-last paragraph...)
How the hell could he tell his wife what the spell was if she was at work when he was doing the spell, and he was apparently carted off to jail **before** she got home -- and why would he tell her he was going to do it in the house when she had asked him to NOT do spells in the house?
And beyond all that, as many have already pointed out, it is too easy to just blame it all on "witchcraft gone bad". Something don't add up here..........

of any spell that involves murder. How is death and destruction gonna help a kid to mind better or make better grades (or whatever it was) ? Sounds like a load of crap to me. I feel bad for the mom but if I ever heard the father of my children say he is going to do a "death and destruction spell" for any reason, I'd be getting a restraining order.

Rev Jorinx (Sioux City, Iowa) - Email Me

I just spoke to two of the Sioux City TV stations. They're trying very hard to point out that this horrible crime is not something Wiccans accept as religious practice.
This having happened right in my hometown makes it very hard to deal with this at the moment, so I hope you'll excuse my rambling on about it.
Those poor girls, it's just incomprehensible. I can't even begin to imagine what the mother must be going through.
It's just a terrible tragedy, such a senseless crime.

I agree with the neighbour...Why were the children both naked and naked from the waist down, home alone with stepfather? I wonder what forensic will find. Less about religion, more about sexual abuse. And some loser who will try to claim that "magick made him do it" in order to get off lighter, or something, because apparently, he simply couldn't help himself, he was overpowered or something, yeah, yeah. Sad but true. Of course, the press will grab the Craft aspect of it, because that sells papers. Also sad but true.
I get so tired of these asshats who blame everything else but the absolute truth, which is: They committed some crime. They had a choice NOT to. They did it anyway. Now they face the consequences of their actions. They feel that they shouldn't have to take responsibility for what they did. They're victims of themselves. They should be exhonorated for such. Boo hoo hoo. And two children are dead, possibly suffering the hell of sexual assault before their short lives ended . Some people just suck.
