New Store In Fox Lake Offers Chance To Find Spiritual Connection

Author: Michelle Gilbert   Source: Lake County Journal (IL)

Title: NEW STORE IN FOX LAKE OFFERS CHANCE TO FIND SPIRITUAL CONNECTION

Earth Elements: Metaphysical and Magickal Shoppe does more than sell products to customers.

Upon entrance, customers are immediately greeted by soothing music. The new store is spacious and earthy. Items are placed around the walls of the store and on tables throughout. A couch with a table and chairs is set on one side of the shop and a small theater is set up near the back.

“Our main goal of what we’re trying to accomplish is to get people to understand other people’s spirituality, find connections with each other,” co-owner Jenny Miller said. “And, rather than saying, ‘My god’s right; my religion’s right; yours is wrong,’ find the similarities in all of them.”

Which means it's important to sound inclusive and friendly, so as not to incite religious hatred and picketing, etc. But the plain fact is, our gods are really nothing at all like theirs, and all the 'great religions of the world' are starting to get their asses kicked by those who are fed up and otherwise searching for something that actually enriches them instead of costing them 10% monthly. Does anyone here really think that soaking up dogma at your local church, synagogue, church or temple is anywhere NEAR as cool as studying Kundalini or Tantric Yoga? Haitian Vodou? How about hot tubbing with your coven mates before the Great Rite? Come on, now. We are smoking the asses off these muggles for which there should be no regrets or apologies. They are nowhere, and the world is OUR oyster now.

before they went fundamentalist. They were able to acknoweledge their Divinities were found in other lands, under another name, with very similar symbols, abilities, specialties, etc.

I believe that there is a basic foundation of at least 12 Divinities, & they each have their own areas of expertise; I don't think it all boils down to 1 or 2. I definately agree that religions have alot more in common & acknoweledging this is a good way to short-circuit hostilities.

As I've said before. We have a lot more in common than we think. If we'd take the time to look for it.
