Dismal economic news has people concerned about jobs, finances, and their future. More and more people so badly want to know what's in their future, they aren't waiting for it to happen.
They want a heads-up. So for psychics, business these days is booming.
For Barbara the Gray Witch, tarot cards are the tools of the trade, and she's been using them for clients more often.
She says business has tripled. The questions people ask Barbara aren't about love anymore, as lately, it's been about finances.

are very hilarious. Here they are snidely complaining about how she has her hands in the pockets of her clientele, yet in the same breath allude to the prospect that the xtian god can solve all their problems if they just believe....
I find their comments as funny as Glinda telling Dorothy that she must click her heels three times and state, 'There's no place like home."
They conveniently forget that in bad times Churches also do a booming business in tithes and donations offering this same pablum. Their hands in the pockets and the minds of- their- sheep as it were.
People seek to find any sign post in times of disaster and seeking the future, usually hoping that things will somehow get better before they have to bite the proverbial bullet .A few, seek hope to find some, any viable course that will somehow lessen the damage that they must bear.
Even with such advice given, as any good teller is likely to say, there are no guarantees, even when events point to something beneficial. At least, the hand holding is somewhat therapeutic despite who is doing it and sometimes a bit of advice may even prove valid.
Neither are doing it for free since both seek a profit out of it. But at least she is up front about it. She isn't looking for converts to her faith.
