Religious Concerns Cloud Future Of Park Sculpture

Title: RELIGIOUS CONCERNS CLOUD FUTURE OF PARK SCULPTURE
A proposed park sculpture including elements of primitive calendars and Native American artwork has raised eyebrows in Wichita with some complaining it could have religious overtones.
Artist Steve Murillo wants to place about 120 stones in three concentric circles at Sedgwick County Park. One ring would act as a solar calendar, similar to the ancient Stonehenge in England, while another would serve as a sundial and the third, an American Indian medicine wheel or labyrinth.
Commissioner Kelly Parks said one woman thought the sculpture was for a cult.

members is a great big CROSS, not a sundial! Beware the torture device as it turns youth into gang members - maybe goths as well, I've seen a goodly number of the fearsom cross on goths as well. Fear the symbol!

Gangs will hang anywhere and probably vandalize the thing. Still, It isn't because of gangs-or even concern for the project, it is because it will be construed as a Pagan religious item-and on public land.

I would go to Wichita to see this. And scary thing is this. Wichita is rather liberal for this area, I have more friends that will live there then where we are currently stuck!
