Baptist Church Plans To Protest Ledger’s Funeral

Title: BAPTIST CHURCH PLANS TO PROTEST LEDGER’S FUNERAL
The radical Baptist church known for picketing the funerals of American soldiers who lost their lives in Iraq has announced that they intend to protest Heath Ledger’s stateside memorial service because he played a gay character in “Brokeback Mountain.”
“You cannot live in defiance of God. He (Ledger) got on that big screen with a big, fat message: God is a liar and it's OK to be gay,” said Shirley Phelps in a statement sent out by the Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church.

occurred when he was granted a permit to picket a funeral in a small town (well, they don't have much choice) and the local school buses just happened to park in the street in front of the picketers with their diesel engines running. I understand WBC went home. Maybe there's a private bus company in NY who can be chartered to help out?

That one day --soon--he burns himself out on his own hate. And the others find dissolution afterward- preferably in a land fill.
As to his hatred, I rather agree with another poster that he possibly is either gay, or knew someone that was that he didn't like too well. After all, Hitler got started that way, with self loathing, probably with a slightly better reason than this man- after all he was abused in his youth- why else would his hatred have been so virulent? I imagine Phelps is much the same.
This man needs a straitjacket, not a platform. We have more than enough Hitlers and Stalins in the world to abuse it, all that changes are the names if not the motives. A constant search for power at the expense of others for whatever reasons moves them and whatever politi-religious excuses they dream up to sway others to do their dirty work. What need have we for one more?

It's times like these I thank the Gods that Australia doesn't have free speech embedded in the Constitution. It would be rather easy, I would think, to have Phelps banned from entering the country, and therefore allow Heath Ledger's family to rest in peace.

Let's all gang together when a Phelps clansperson dies. Can you imagine the street party? You'll never see a happier funeral. Celebrities and the general public will mingle with eachother. Martinis and margratias on the house. Wine will flow through the streets. Music will blare from some outrageous-fi. God, I'm going to that funeral. I wouldn't miss one of those $@#*!&s dyin' for the world.

For those of you interested, go to www.wikipedia.org. His is a most peculiar bio, which after reviewing recently has been altered, and very much so censored to his early years growing up. It used to say something along the lines of "had trouble making aquantances with women". This I didn't find all that odd at first, but as a previous poster had mentioned, he seems quite focused on 1 thing. And 1 thing only. It is my theory, which like evolution, is so incredibly obvious but alas, not provable just yet, that Fred Phelps is gay, or at the very least, bisexual. It makes perfect sense. And why not? Why ELSE would a man rail against something he has no control over? Hmmmm....
Truly folks, this cannot be a coincidence. In fact, I don't think for a moment that it is. He views himself as an abomination to whatever diety or version of diety he supposedly worships and to himself. What a sad little man to taunt the world into wanting it to dispose of him just because he has not the courage to off himself? I do not mean to go too far, so please, allow me to make my point: I am merely looking inside this maniac's mind, and yes, what I see is horrible, but more than likely the truth. Why else would he want the world to hate him so? Why else would he want to appear as something so vile? Because this is the very way he sees himself. Yes, boom. The point is nailed. His is an ugly creature but a simple one too, and with a pair of psychological tweezers, is easily disected and catalogued like any other subject.

Anyway, I feel so sorry for Heath's family and friends. Not only are they dealing with his untimely death, but, they also may have to deal with the Phelps morons.

Causing further hurt to innocent mourners at a funeral ...
Playing an acting role that entertained many, made many think, empowered many ...
All I see is a bunch of religious people jealous of a young man's success at empowering and entertaining others.
Now that the word is out about their planned "protest", the appropriate steps can be taken to mitigate the hurt they will cause to Mr Ledger's grieving family, friends and fans.
RIP Heath Ledger, you entertained me and made me think. Thank you for that.

As I read more about Frank Phelps and his merry band of fruitcakes I noticed this overwhelming focus on homosexuality. This is when the wheels started turning and I remembered something from my psychology class called reaction fixation. This is when a person has some deep laden psychological issue that they are so afraid to deal with that it manifests itself toward hatred of others with the same issue. Homophobia is a prime example, I think Frank Phelps has deep laden homosexual tendencies (only my opinion) that he is so afraid to deal with due to his misguided belief system that he's lashing out at other gay people as a means of hiding his own feelings. Maybe if he accepted his true self he would be more accepting of other people who are different in other ways. Hey Frankie the truth shall set you FREE!!!

Let them be. I just attended the funeral of a close family member last week. The occasion is enough emotional turmoil and sadness mixed with memory. I do not think they would like the response of my family if they did this. It is the epitomy of direspect for the family to even consider protesting their son's funeral because he played a character whose values you did not agree with.
