Psychic Beliefs

Author: Joe Rodriguez, The Wichita Eagle Source: Kansas.com

Title: PSYCHIC BELIEFS
Christianity and clairvoyance are blended in a small room of the Wichita business where Anne Kennedy and other family psychics use what they say are spiritual gifts.
In that room -- where the psychics say they predict futures and commune with the dead -- there are several statues, figurines and paintings depicting Jesus, Mary, saints and angels. Even the business name is a reflection of divine intervention: "God Gifted Psychic."
While many people -- including religious leaders -- say such psychic activity is an offense to God, psychics such as Kennedy and others in her family say their gifts come through God, and they don't see a conflict.

the bible does not talk about seeing/dreaming of the ghosts of loved ones, that book doesn't cover how to foretell one's future-it actually forbids calendar keeping, forbids knowing the planets movements & what they mean. The Bible/Koran/Pentatuk all forbid what was common practice in other religions & mostly that's the ONLY reason such are outlawed, it'd be going back to the older gods & goddesses.

The guilt/shame/fear-mongering of the RCC and the Evangelical fundies is certainly nauseating. Anything that threatens their “only true” sectarian dogmatic drivel or positions of power, profit and control over the sheeple is of course………”of “the devil””. Of course, the Evangelical fundies are “heretics” as far as the RCC is concerned, and the RCC is the “whore of Babylon” as far as the Baptists and Xtian Zionists are concerned, etc……….and so it goes, as the idiocy continues.
There are many individuals with Gifts out there, which include Clairvoyance, Clairsentience, Empathy, etc. These are amoung the Manifestations of Powers which the rabid fundie can not possibly Comprehend. As we know, there is no Power whatsoever in fallacious dogma and its associated legalistic absurdities.
The Crystal Links article on Christian Psychic Edgar Cayce: ( [Web LINK] )
Granted, there are charlatans out there, but Cayce and the folks mentioned in the cited article are not amoung those.
The Idea, however, is to continue to Grow and Develop in one’s own Personal Divinity.
Xeper!

Nocturnal Light (Camp Humphreys, Kansas) - Email Me

I don't recall anywhere in the article where the psychics said they thought Paganism was evil, I don't know what everyone's getting in such a fuss over. All of the psychics I've came across seem to follow a New Age Christianity, but most of them were still very Pagan-friendly.
I used to study the Bible alot, and even when I was a Christian I couldn't find anything where it said a Christian couldn't be a psychic. Yeah there was that one old testament law but any Christian who knows anything about their religion should know that the new testament states they are no longer under those laws (though most preachers today cherry-pick them anyway so they can throw them at anyone who doesn't fit their idea of a "righteous" person) . Besides most of the adept psychics are born with the ability and can't help but try to integrate it into their religious beliefs.
Remember that many of the Christians' concepts of saints and angels were adapted from Pagan deities, so I am open to the idea that we may be working with the same entities as those Christian psychics are, we just have different ways of percieving them.

| Cursed / Blessed...? | May 25th. at 10:26:23 am EDT

Whitewolf, for them it's 'blessed' because they want to do it. It's a modification of the IOKIYAR (it's okay if you're a republican) into IOKIYAC (it's okay if you're a christian) but not for anyone else.
We = evil/cursed - They = blessed
(reminds a touch of back in college, my Interior Design dept was in Fine Arts, not part of the Architectural school - they looked down on 'us'. And similar bias in the real world - we ID's can't practice Architecture, but the moment the economy slows all the Architects that need to CAN do Interior Design...)
Peace, love and keep on working the psychic energy! It's ALWAYS okay if you are a Pagan/Witch/Druid/and many many more! :)

God created everything in the universe so if psychic ability is offensive to Christians then God must be too.
