Museum Group Sued By Fellow Creationists

Author: Andy Mead   Source: Lexington Herald –Leader (KY)

Title: MUSEUM GROUP SUED BY FELLOW CREATIONISTS

There is trouble in paradise, with a fight of biblical proportions raging between a Kentucky-based creationist group and the Australian group from which it sprang.

Three days after the Memorial Day opening of Answers in Genesis' $27 million Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky, a group called Creation Ministries International filed suit in the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Among other things, the suit claims the Kentucky group stole subscribers for its Answers magazine by claiming that the Australians' Creation magazine was "no longer available."

The suit is the most public move in what has been a growing rift between groups that are spreading the same Garden of Eden creation message on opposite sides of the globe.

Strangeness Jun 19th. at 10:35:45 am EDT

Am I the only one who thought it peculiar that a woman was accused of "witchcraft and necrophilia"? That in itself would prove that the Creationists have a screw loose.

Beyond that, the whole legal mess is a matter of personality conflicts and arguments over money, as happens with all groups of people.

It's only because they're trying to run a Museum. Trust me. I work in a real Museum and greed, waste, pettiness, thirst for power, vicious politics, ludicrous mismanagement, and the Peter Principal (people are promoted to their level of incompetence) , are all part of the museum environment. Soon they'll be screwed up enough to be a world class museum and join the ranks of the big boys like we just did.

They Will Know That We Are Christians By Our Love Jun 18th. at 4:07:28 pm EDT

Gotta love that old christian hymn, "They will know that we are christians by our love..."

They are so consumed with nit picking over the little things that they claim to forget what they are about.

So much for "love and compassion" and "sharing and caring."

What they are increasingly known for is their love of bickering and increasing the coffers.

Kind of sad, really.

I Think It's Funny... Jun 18th. at 11:48:54 am EDT

...that they're taking themselves out. Apparently it's just not enough that all the rest of us think they're crazy and want them shut down - now they have to do it to themselves!

For real, though. How many Pagan groups have tried to sue each other over "stealing ideas"? It's ridiculous.

Also, this quote just cracked me up:

"The Bible tells you not to have a lawsuit against your brother, so you can see who's obeying the Bible and who's not."

LOL! That kills me! Where in all it's musty pages does the bible mention the word, "lawsuit"? Maybe I didn't read the right version... Of course, it's probably the same bible that has that parable about humans and dinosaurs living at the same time... yeah...

This is all about money and power. Major religions everywhere, at the top, are about money and power.

How about spirit and compassion instead.

Oh, they're- serious- aren't they? I have a feeling that by the time the dust settles on this one Australia will have moved more north by then.

Oh, if only we had people like Lawrence Sterne and Macchiaveli. They would laugh their socks off and it would keep their pens busy for the rest of their lives. Where are the satirists from 'Private Eye' when you need them?

'You nicked our ideas!" Technically their pretty much the same ideas.

Anyone else tempted to start a career in satire, getting sued and then satirising that so you can get sued again so you can write on that.

Well when looking at the news through the eyes of a satirist there is always something ironic or cynical.

Providing the satire works.
