Attorney Predicts Trouble For Livingston Fortune-Telling Law

Author: The Associated Press Source: Nola

Title: ATTORNEY PREDICTS TROUBLE FOR LIVINGSTON FORTUNE-TELLING LAW
Livingston Parish officials have been advised by their lawyer that they would likely lose a lawsuit over the parish ordinance against soothsaying.
A Wiccan minister, Cliff Eakin, has sued the parish over the ordinance.
The ordinance, passed last year by the Parish Council, states: "No person shall engage in the practices of soothsaying, fortune telling, palm reading, clairvoyance, crystal ball gazing, mind reading, card reading and the like, for money or other consideration."

Is it just my own interpretation, or can the Christian practice of Prophecy (in the Name of "God", of course) be included in the ordinance? It is, after all, a form of Clairvoyance, and is always done for the "consideration" of "saving people's souls".
Hey, what is good for the Goose should always be fed to the Gander. They want to restrict what others can do/say/feel/think/write/read/hear/eat/etc -- they need to live by the same Laws they impose on everyone else. No matter what religion "they" happen to say "they" follow.

I live near there and this whole area has generally the same view (though thankfully, no where in MS has tried this yet) , so it's awesome to see that one of our community has come out on top. Way to go!
