Soothsaying Court Battle Useless Waste

Author: Bob Anderson   Source: The Advocate (LA)

Title: SOOTHSAYING COURT BATTLE USELESS WASTE

A person does not have to agree with other people’s religious practices in order to support their right to follow those beliefs.

When Americans speak with pride of the freedoms that this nation offers, religious freedom should be at or near the top of the list. Escaping religious oppression was a reason many people came to this country and is why the Founding Fathers made religious freedom a constitutional cornerstone.

One person’s belief in supernatural powers often seems strange or absolutely wrong to another person. People who have never lived in a place where people of their own beliefs make up a small minority often have difficulty handling that concept about their beliefs.

Embarrassing Folks In Neighboring Parish Mar 1st. at 4:59:57 am EST

What can one say?

Common sense has never figured into fundamentalist's thinking. After all,
many of these folks (in this parish) believe the Bible literally, including
the belief the earth is only 10,000 years old.

Process non-linear thinking is not their forte'. :) ;)

Good for Bob Anderson *APPLAUSE*...I hope this article doesn't lose him a
job.

The city I used to live in also drove psychics and tarot readers, etc. from the city citing it was taking advantage of the vulnerable or some similar nonsense. This made me wonder, then for a reason I can't recall I received a letter from the city and at the top as part of it's letter head was a picture of a church, go figure. See the connection?
Eastpointe is not the most Pagan friendly place in MI or any other non-christin person, so cross the 10 mile border and there are a couple Pagan stores willing to meet your needs.

that if an ordinance is passed declaring soothsaying a crime, then by all means the preacher should be arrested and hauled off his pulpit for preaching the end of the world- or quoting any biblical prophecy on the grounds that it too- is soothsaying.
After all, what's good for the crystal ball handler, should be good for him as well.
