Howell Spiritual Staple Closing Its Doors

Author: Christopher Behnan Source: Daily Press & Argus (MI)

Title: HOWELL SPIRITUAL STAPLE CLOSING ITS DOORS
Wisdom of the Ages has withstood a religious protest against the store's Wiccan tradition and set up shop in mostly Christian Livingston County, but has fallen victim to Michigan's struggling economy.
The store, at 201 S. Michigan Ave. in Howell, will close its doors at 5 p.m. Saturday after eight years in business. Most store items are on sale until that time.
But those interested in the store's herbs, incense and crystals shouldn't worry.

Indeed, it is a shame that so many shops are closing hereabouts in the "Mitten" State. However, what we need to do as Pagan shopowners, is to have a variety......Pagan stuff, a coffee shop, Massage, and perhaps a tutoring center for school children. THAT is what I plan to open here in Newaygo County! And, if you are in the SCA, you will get 5% off everything in the shop.....that will also cater to SCA folks.......swords, garb (Including Pagan robes) , jewelry, etc.......as well as used books and toys! These days, we need to think "Department Store".....to stay afloat.

Oh.....and having an office for our Sanctuary is an added bonus!

Or is anyone else bothered by the quotation marks around earth-based and full-moon? It's not "risen from the dead" for Christians, is it?

I'm sadly not surprised. Seems like at the rate of job loss in Michigan, the whole state might as well put up a sign that says, "Closed for business."
Hope it serves as a lesson to other states: Never put all your economic eggs in one basket, especially when the basket has "Nova" or "Pinto" printed on it.

It's always bad to lose something one tries to make a going concern, especially when it is among those who protest, and even harder when one finally wins a little acceptance. At least, this time it was the economy, not that it's any real consolation. I wish her well in her scaled down venture.
