Mississippi: Religious Displays Await Local OK

Author: Andy Kanengiser Source: Jackson Clarion Ledger (MS)

Title: RELIGIOUS DISPLAYS AWAIT LOCAL OK
Mississippians may see the Ten Commandments on display in public buildings and diners may pay more for a burger near Pearl's new baseball stadium under new laws signed by Gov. Haley Barbour.
Local boards must approve the Ten Commandments and Pearl residents must approve the tax before the laws take effect.
Sharkey County Supervisor Bill Newsom wants the Ten Commandments displayed inside the county's 103-year-old courthouse in Rolling Fork's town square.
Barbour on Wednesday signed Senate Bill 2486 that also allows displays of "In God We Trust'' and the Beatitudes. He displays the Ten Commandments in his Capitol office.

BelRex (Leakesville, Mississippi) - Email Me

This morning on our local public radio station, they were talking about the fact that the governer is going to call a special session of the goverment to finish the budget. One of the prime reasons:funding for schools.
Money could be spent on so many other projects. Heck..donate the money to the local animal shelter.
If you ask me..they need to put the first lines of the Wiccan Rede for xians to see. Maybe they'll go around hating less..and understanding more.
