Update: Christian Adoption Agency Changes Policy On Catholic Couples

Author: Jackson Channel.com Source: Jackson Channel.com (MS)

Title: CHRISTIAN ADOPTION AGENCY CHANGES POLICY ON CATHOLIC COUPLES
A Christian adoption agency in Mississippi has changed its practice of not placing children with Roman Catholic couples.
The local board of directors for Bethany Christian Services voted unanimously to now include adoption requests for Roman Catholics.
Officials with the national organization made the announcement Wednesday, saying that all Bethany offices will comply with the practice.

Now that Catholic families might recieve a fair shake from a government funded institution, however I can't help but wonder how long it will be before members of another faith group encounter the same problem. Odds are they still believe they have the right to discriminate against some based on religion.

If they're a privately-run adoption agency, they can choose their clientele. If they get public funds, they have to take anyone who wishes to adopt. That's why I'm very hesitant about going to a Xtian adoption agency if we choose to adopt.

I've always thought it bizarre when some variety of Christians say that Catholics are not Christian. After all, they were the original Christian church. The others broke away in protest, and that is why they are known as protestants.
Oh well. Ironic that the government had to give them a reality check. It really is bizarre to say that letting Catholics adopt is placing the children with non-Christians.

"A Christian adoption agency in Mississippi has changed its practice of not placing children with Roman Catholic couples."
Now, about Wiccans, Haré Krishnas, Scientologists and Secular Humanists?
There might be reason to exclude the above, if they're only managing the Children of Baptist Mothers.
"Bethany's national statistics show that 16 percent of the organization's adoptions in 2004 were Roman Catholic families. "
How'd that happen? Are these people even faithless to their own corrupt policy?
Were I running a Baptist Orphanage, I'd play it real safe, and have the children baptise the parents again.
