Inmate Sues Over Alleged Satanism Interference

Author: AP Source: Google

Title: INMATE SUES OVER ALLEGED SATANISM INTERFERENCE
A 35-year-old man imprisoned for drug possession has filed a $10 million federal lawsuit against Yellowstone County, alleging jailers interfered with his satanic religious practices while he was in jail.
The lawsuit filed by Jason P. Indreland claims county jail staff took from him a religious medallion, denied him access to a "Satanic Bible or Book of Satanic Rituals" and ridiculed and punished him for his religious beliefs.

If they allow Christians to worship in the jail, then this guy must be allowed the same type of access (medallion/small piece of religious jewelry, religious books) .
Not allowing it is bad enough, but the card-giving, if true, just nails the jail-officials.
He should be in jail, he broke the law. However, the state/government (which the jail is an extension of) , is NOT allowed to pick & choose which religions it'll allow.

| No Freedom Of Religion In That Prison... | Feb 22nd. at 10:17:50 pm EST

Karl (Detroit Metro, Michigan) - Email Me - Web

Every prisoner should have access to whatever book they want to, from whatever religion they may be involved in. Christians in prisons are given bibles and Muslims in prisons are given Qur’ans, etc.. I’m sure there are prisoners who are allowed to wear Xian crosses, and if this prisoner wants to wear his baphomet, that should be allowed as well. If he was not allowed those same types of privileges as a Satanist, then he was discriminated against.
As per the article, this individual had been convicted of previous crime, including theft and check fraud. I have no sympathy for this type of stupidity, and he should be jailed for doing that. With regard to his drug “crime”, this man was obviously either never or very poorly educated as to the dangers of crystal, which will of course, kill you, just like heroin, X and cocaine will. Substance abusers don’t belong in jail, they need education and counseling. And how many billions of dollars have U.S. taxpayers shelled out to house prisoners convicted of marijuana and other personal drug usage “crime”? IMO, a crime is something that harms another person. When you harm yourself, that is not a crime, that is stupidity. Stupidity is the first Satanic sin.
Everybody has the right to practice whatever religion they want to, or, to practice no religion at all if that is what they choose to do. We do not hate Xians. What we do hate is the centuries of guilt/shame/fear/control-mongering foisted on the sheeple by the church, along with all of the other literalized fables, frauds, forgeries and fabrications promulgated as the “only true” way to be “saved” in their religionist inventions, and…..all of the atrocities, abominations, tortures and murders done in the name of blood-thirsty “Abraham”ic god.
With regard to biblegod, “Jesus”, and “Satan”, they are all, IMO, fabrications of dualistic idiocy. With regard to the alleged claims regarding the alleged god-man, alleged “angelic” hierarchies, alleged biblical historicity and all of the other dogmatic drivel, one would first have to demonstrate that the source book was indeed “divinely inspired”. One would expect such a book to have no errors or incongruity whatsoever, either Scientifically, Historically or Logically. One would also expect that all Xians would be doing ALL of “Jesus” works as per the prophecy of the alleged god-man in John 14:12. This is however, not the case, and thus, IMO, the bible has no authoritative validity as the “word” of an alleged deity. This does not mean that things like “love your neighbor as yourself”, etc. are not decent Philosophy, but what it does mean, IMO, is that there is no valid basis for their exclusivist claims.
I have posted these links before, but there may be a few out there who may not have had the opportunity to visit these sites.
Kenneth Humphreys’ UK site, JesusNeverExisted: ( [Web LINK] ) It is of course, up to the believer to personally refute the massive compilation of evidence at the site, or possibly re-assess his or her position.
Alvin Boyd Kuhn’s 1943 Masterpiece ‘Who Is This King Of Glory?’ ( [Web LINK] ) Kuhn goes into the Xian dogmatic frauds in detail.
Best regards to all,
K

After reading the responses many of you gave about this criminal, I find myself feeling abhored with many of you. Are we not supposed to be the ones of tollerance?? Are we not supposed to be the ones of love and acceptence?? Do not forget that this man is a criminal. He is in prison for a reason as some of you pointed out. Many of you come across as xtian and jesus haters. Not children of the Great Goddess and the Mother of us all. There is a reason why the prison stopped this man. He must have been up to no good. I have heard of a few cases where men in prison have been forbidden to attend christian classes. Prison is a whole different world. It is a scarey place. A place where you have murderes, pedophiles, rapists, and hardend drug criminals. The social structure there is very fragile. It is a hard job to keep peace between the prisoners. Just so you know prisons allow Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Bhudism, B'hai, Shammanism, Wicca and pretty much all religions. They are not christian centric. Maybe it just seems like it to many of you because you seem to have a very skewed view of xtians and jesus. Also xtians have many prison ministry programs. They are all about evangelizing. I think if we want people to be tolerant of us we should be loving and tolerant of others. Even if they are satanists, or xtians. Another thing, satan is not a diety in christianity. He is a fallen angel. According to the bible he tried to overthrow god by leading a rebellion of 1/3 of the angels. Satan tried to exalt himself above god. He was kick ed out of heaven and so were the other 1/3 with him. Angels are not gods in the bible. They are only messengers of god. They are supposed to only do his bidding, and are never worshipped.

Corax (Glendale, Arizona) - Email Me

is not actually about Satanism or the nature and/or beliefs of the various Satanic groups [i.e., Church of Satan (LeVeyan Satanism) , Temple of Set, etc., or whether it is an xian construct (the buybull's version of satan IS a buybull/xian construct, but the REAL Satan is not, being roughly equivalent to the ancient Egyptian God Set] but this issue IS about the rights of a prisoner to exercise his First Amendment religious rights. I fail to see how having a Satanic religious medallion or having copies of various Satanic books is in any way disruptive to jailhouse order (a common excuse of prison officials when denying inmates access to occult objects and/or reading material) . I find it especially outrageous that the prison officials are denying him his religion's equivalent to 'scripture' while simultaneously attempting to evangelize him with those sickening 'jeebus loves you' tracts (always a good substitute for toilet paper) . How would those prison officials like it if THEY were incarcerated and the prevailing religion were Satanism, and they, as the prisioners, were constantly denied their buybulls and constantly plied with Satanic literature??? The hypocrisy of these jailhouse officials knows no bounds. Give the man his medallion back and let him have his books! If your xian "god" is truly "all-powerful", why does he need YOUR help to convert non-xians??

An arrow goes where it's pointed.
How we treat the incarcerated, the disadvantaged, minors, the infirm and religious minorities offers markers of what kind of society we are (abusive or egalitarian?) because it tells us how broad and deep tyranny of the majority (prejudice and injustice) is.
That's more important to everyone in every walk of American life than the particular reasons this guy is in jail, how we classify Satanism or whether we like Satanism.
Regarding Any "Five Faiths" or Like Doctrines:
The flipside of any government recognizing faiths involves not recognizing some faiths and creedism is always (!) taken for a ride in the currents of the current religious power and control struggles, thus feeding the metaparadigm of abuse and not of equality. This has far reaching (!) effects across the spectrum of our daily lives (teach a child a power paradigm and they'll live by it) .
Tyranny of the majority sucks.
Healthy pluralism rocks.
Creedism should be a real word (in the dictionary) .
This is what equality looks like. [Web LINK]

He was arrested for possession of drugs. Not for harming any other person. Don't you think you're being a bit harsh and prejudiced simply because he's in jail? I'm not saying pity the man, but I'm reading here allegations of selling drugs to children (there were no charges of trafficking) , rape and assault. What the hell? How can you have a balanced conversation if you allow your own prejudices and stereotypes to seep in? As a community who faces prejudice and stereotyping ourselves, I think asking us to keep that in check within our own behaviour and community is called for.

If this person was not in jail I would jump on the his-rights-have-been violated ban-wagon, but he is in jail. I really get tired of hearing this guys say "its not fair". Dude, your in prision/jail you broke the law and put yourself there. These guys gave little thought to anyone elses rights when they were robbing, raping, murdering or sale drugs to children. As long as these guys aren't been physcially mistreated I couldn't give a flying fig.

FACTS:
1) "Satan" is a xian deity. 2) Any religion that names itself something simply for shock value isn't very valid.
Oh, wait. I forgot. We're supposed to be "politically correct" here. I just can't help it if I live in the real world.

Most satanists would strongly disagree with you. There beliefs have more in line with Humanism than devil worship. Calling it satanism is just for shock value and to piss off Christians.

Ten million dollars is a bit steep, but he may have something of a case. While he is not a Pagan or a xtian, he is entitled to believe what he wishes and to have, within reason what he needs, as well as the space to worship just as the others do. They have no right to coerce him any more than they have the right to coerce any xtian to change faith or to convert anyone by force or guile to their beliefs.

At 35, he's 14 years past the age of 21, and should be over his childhood ritalin addiction, still, he hasn't got his life togeather, and got tossed into a jail, where the staff have the same problem.
I sometimes wonder how much Jesus could sue for, as Defamation of Character.
Ten Million sounds a bit steep but, consider how much the Sherriff doesn't want to spend, to remediate the problems. That Jail should be safe for Satanists, Quaqiutls, Scientologists and other religious groups, even if the idiot is just trying to be different.

One xian group trying to convert another xian?
(Don't give me that "satanism has nothing to do with satan" bulls**t. Why ELSE would you call it "satanism?" "Satan" is an xian deity, they can worship it.)
