Woman Writes Her Second Book Of Norse Folk Tales

Title: WOMAN WRITES HER SECOND BOOK OF FOLK TALES
Rakel Erickson of Fertile, Minn., is celebrating her 92nd birthday this month. Not that unusual for a Norwegian woman with deep roots in the soil of northern Minnesota.
What is unusual is that she recently released her second book, "Folkeminnevitskap II," a collection of 33 Norse legends and folk tales retold in English. The book is a companion to the first volume, released in December 2002 and in its second printing.
"To me, the second book is more interesting than the first one," she said. "There are some things I wanted to say. What we were trying to do is make a collection of stories for the family. I'm afraid it's a 101 course in Scandinavian folklore."

What a wonderful thing. Too many of the old stories have been lost, it's wonderful to see something like this.
Now if we could just lay our hands on it... :)

I wish they'd mentioned how you could get these books if you don't happen to live in Minn. and can't go to the signings. I'd love to read them as they sound right up my ally.
