Ten cuts? You know, if the cuts did indeed happen, were purposeful and of substantial number as reported then this case was bound to go through a child protection system and the courts and I don't think the right to practice a minority religion is going to protect the adults involved.

If you asked me, the child got bathed in protective forces alright, just not the way envisioned by those practitioners.

So yeah, I don't appreciate the mix of paraphrasing police, the timing of adding the content of neighors' comments and the way the whole story was handled, but yes, I agree that these practitioners crossed lines and they're going to have to answer for it.

Why The Map? Jul 10th. at 11:27:38 pm EDT

My real worry here is that their names and addresses were posted. With a map. They didn’t need to post a map. Fundi’s call the cops and lie about pagans abusing children every day.

"Articles" Like That Leave One With More Questions Jul 10th. at 3:24:37 am EDT

The child was cut? How? Where? Why? Under what circumstances? Related to the sacrifce or no? Accidentally or on purpose? Papercut or more serious cut?

I saw chickens get their heads cut for the sake of human consumption. It didn't warp me. It wasn't abuse for me to have seen that.

I found glorifying the Crucifiction of Christ more upsetting. And how about having kids watch communion, with talk of symbolically consuming the body and blood of a very dead white (heh) guy (Jesus) ? I found it weird that both were considered normal. That this is what they wanted to focus on...and I had to endure talk about that every Sunday.

Why is it suddenly abuse if religion is involved in a ritual animal sacrifce? For all we know, the animals are killed most humanely and eaten afterward, which very well be the case. Those animals may have lived and died better than what happens on our corporate farms.

Is creedism the new racism, being that practitioners of religions that sacrfice animals are often "people of color?"

Is prosecuting a case like this fitting or just a something replacing the Satanic Panic type cases?

Something happened, not sure what, police say nothing! More at 11.

Not sure why this article, if you could call it that, was published. It doesn't bother me as a witch, but as a journalist it infuriates me. RAEG.

It doesn't say how the child was cut which means it could have been a paper cut. as for the 'ritual sacrifice' they have proof it was sacrafice? Could have been butchering an animal for dinner, and used it as an excuse to bust someone of a differing religion.

Where's The Facts? Jul 9th. at 11:47:25 am EDT

I also agree with the previous post that this could be made up. I constantly hear stories like these from fundies, but I have never known anyone within our community who does this sort of stuff. Ever. It could just be yet another urban legend spawned to keep up the hate.

What’s with the map? It’s as if they want every vigilantly to come get them. This story could be fake. A strategy they use is a lack of details ,so occult experts can’t tell what’s going on. This may be a Wicca couple falsely accused . People make this stuff up on pagans every day. We need to look into this.

More Info Needed.... Jul 8th. at 6:55:08 pm EDT

There wasn't too much to this article as the age of the child was not mentioned. Cutting a child is bad enough, but forcing the girl to watch animals being killed-possibly against her will-- is worse.
I realize that animal sacrifices do take place in this day and age, but children should be exempt from participation in such things until they are of age to understand the reasons behind it.

Wrong Focus Jul 8th. at 2:52:46 pm EDT

Ahr-Ohn (Bridgeport, Connecticut) - Email Me

The case is being made, that animals were slaughtered in a religious ritual. This is home slaughter, probably in preparation of a ritual dinner.

What kind of cut did this girl receive, and was she a toddler or a teen? I can certainly understand the authorities being upset, over a clitorectomy or hymenotomy, but other types of Cutting have been known. Is this a cosmetic trad, or a tradition of Human Sacrifice. Was the knife unsterilized?

Wrong side of the tracks, I'll bet. Likely, but not too close to the shore. The Evening Breeze will go towards the New York Bite, and bring the ashes and soot from the steam trains, that the neighborhood was built for. West Paterson wasn't so far from the tracks, but wouldn't catch the pollution when anybody was home.

It was probably Female Circumcision, and the girl was ten, Fourth Grader.

Endangering a child? What about endangering the animals? I'm not saying it's okay to "cut" a child (whatever that means) , but come on...
