More: Soldier To Be Honored With Wiccan Plaque

Author: Scott Sonner, Associated Press Source: Santa Fe New Mexican (NM)

Title: SOLDIER TO BE HONORED WITH WICCAN PLAQUE
Friends and family of a Nevada soldier killed in Afghani stan more than a year ago plan to gather at a veterans cemetery today to dedicate what they say is the first government-issued memorial plaque in the country to include a symbol of the Wiccan faith.
The multicultural, interfaith service for Sgt. Patrick Stewart of Fernley will include blessings by American Indians, Jews, Christians and Wiccans, said the Rev. Salena Fox, one of the Wiccan organizers of the memorial.
“There’s quite a diversity of people who are going to be there,” Fox said Friday before leaving her home in Wis consin for the trip to northern Nevada.
“People are flying in from across the country to attend the dedication,” she said.

..the VA has no authority to decide what is and is not a religious symbol--and by implication--what is and is not a religion.
That they feel secure to discriminate against a religion recognized by the US Armed Forces itself should ring alarm bells, regardless of anyone's affiliation and cherished symbols.

The more the news gets spread or focused upon the more people will see. The whole point to articles like this one is to make sure that the issue never gets brushed under the rug. Regardless of us not having a national spokesperson, we need to come together and fight. Instead of bickering over petty differences, we need to join together.
The symbol should be put on the gravestones...even if our personal symbols differ for each path. As an Kemetic pagan my symbol is the ankh.....I would not mind (If I were in the military) if the penticle was put on my stone instead!!!!!
