Beach In Jamaica Bay Littered With Debris, Slain Animals

Author: Brendan Brosh   Source: NY Daily News

Title: BEACH IN JAMAICA BAY LITTERED WITH DEBRIS, SLAIN ANIMALS

An isolated beach on Jamaica Bay has become an eyesore, littered with religious icons and the gruesome remnants of animal sacrifices, area residents complain.

And last week, Queens News found a decapitated goat and evidence of an apparent chicken sacrifice on the beach, at the foot of the Joseph P. Addabbo Memorial Bridge that connects Broad Channel and Howard Beach.

Fishermen said they have seen headless cats on the shore there.

Locals complain that the National Park Service, which has jurisdiction over the site, does little to patrol or clean the area.

...but I imagine the members of that eco group have much more time and resources (in the form of warm bodies AND $$) at hand than the NPS does. Waaay more. Perhaps instead of sniping at the NPS they should meet with them and arrange to help with an area "watch", as many neighborhood groups do.

This would also be the year 2008. I bring that up only to separate the wheat from the chaff, the wheat being those with enough brain development to not require the sadistic ritual abuse of animals to meet their ends, the chaff being those that apparently do. They seem to have so much more in common with the ancient world or the dark ages than they do with citizens of the world in 2008. And what company they must keep. It's all very lovely.

Take Untold Various Contributors Of Litter... Nov 21st. at 9:01:57 pm EST

...add creedism, throw in the usual purposeful ignorance (purposeful ignorance being called "a bad faith" decision for good reason) shake things up to increase "news" sales, and **very strongly** associate (association being one of the most powerful tings in the human mind, so powerful that it **greatly** alters comprehension and focus) attention and blame with less popular religions, ignoring that proper rituals in said suspected religions do not call for and do not use cats as sacrifices, or so is my understanding thus far.

But it's okay (sarcasm alert) , racism going out of style and all now that Obama is president-elect, for major news media to twist content like that, mistaking certain -isms and -ists for quality journalism. We wouldn't want to spoil illusions as to which side we're on -- we're with The Forces of Good, not any evil cat murdering beach littering pot smoking religious minority the scallywags, damn liberals! Yeah, we know about Jamaica (prime target) .

People from abusive environments or backgrounds often do get into Zoosadism, however, and are usually the culprits in cases of "ritualistic" animal murder, specifically. [Web LINK] But that’s boring so to hell with society improving pluralism friendly educational articles-- sensationalism sells, especially in times of economic downturn!

Pluralism is too taxing on the brain anyway.

Listen, I don't doubt that there really are ritual related debris floating in the waters or left on the beach and that needs to be addressed but this Jamaican beach & water litter issue hardly should be looked through the lens of creedism in a New York source of news, New York being one of the most litter-filled cities on earth?

So sure, let people of different practices and geographic locations get on themselves and each other about keeping Mother Nature clean but let's not forget that the entire human race has abuse problems, be they domestic, animal, or Gaia abuse. Entire. Human. Race. [Web LINK]

There is no belief set or religion, organized, eclectic, orthopraxic, or orthodoxic, exempt from the criminal, abusive, insane, stupid, or embarrassing in their midst.

Um...There Was More Than Just Trash Here... Nov 21st. at 2:14:59 pm EST

Keyra (Plano, Texas) - Email Me

Yes, most of the article has to do with garbage and debris, but I think everyone is missing one key point of the article here: decapitated goats, headless cats, etc.

Yes, this may be part of some Santeria ritual (except I have NEVER heard of them using a cat...EVER) but here's something to consider...yes, these things are removed as quickly as they can, but how'd you like to come down to the beach to relax for awhile and you see the corpse of a headless goat where you usually like to plant your umbrella? Or worse yet...your children trip over the body of a mutilated dog or something?

From the article: "We want all New Yorkers to enjoy our beaches, but we cannot have circumstances where there is animal cruelty," [Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Queens, Brooklyn) ] said.

I guess because of the recent articles from Halloween and the articles before them of chicken sacrifices by Santeria sects, things like this were glossed over and the focus was about the litter?

Leaving A Mess Shouldn't Be Part Of A Ritual. Nov 21st. at 11:41:00 am EST

bigcat (peoria, Illinois) - Email Me

I agree. The locals should take it up with the religious groups. The Park Service should too. When rituals are done, messes should be cleaned up so that other people don't have to trip over them. While there may be certain rituals that require certain things be left behind they could be buried. Leaving a big mess behind is just irresponsible. Besides I'm sure the national park service has better things to do besides picking up that trash people leave behind.

It's amazing that the "locals complain that the National Park Service, which has jurisdiction over the site, does little to patrol or clean the area" when locals should be insisting the religious groups take personal responsibility to clean up after themselves.

What? The world is supposed to assume picking up one's own garbage is a violation of religious rights now?

Perhaps they should start a slogan or ad campaign:
"Mother Gaia has much more to do than clean up after the likes of you!"
