Return Of Hebe Statue To Be Heralded Sunday

Title: RETURN OF HEBE STATUE TO BE HERALDED SUNDAY
With little fanfare, the goddess of youth made her way back home to downtown Roseburg Monday, taking her place at Eagles Park near the corner of Jackson Street and Lane Avenue.
Hebe, at long last, has arrived.
“It did get placed today,” said Roseburg Councilor Stacey Crowe. “The fountain works. It’s absolutely gorgeous.”
She is currently shrouded in black with a green ribbon spiraling around the tarp.

I think that both the statue and the concept are both stunning. Did anyone get a serious giggle at the "explanation" the dissenter gave in a recent editorial? Meth and herpes, not ambrosia and honey! LOL!

I'm glad to see this resolved with some common sense. I was on the Board of the Umpqua Valley Arts Association shortly before this whole controversy came up, and so feel pretty close to the issue.
The evangelical group upset by this was aided and abetted by a Country Commissioner who narrowly avoided a recall less than a year into her term and never met a wedge issue she didn't like.
