Altar Outside W. Warwick Church Defaced

Author: Kate Bramson   Source: Providence Journal (RI)

Title: ALTAR OUTSIDE W. WARWICK CHURCH DEFACED

The police are investigating the vandalism of a granite altar at a shrine located behind Sacred Heart Church, at 820 Providence St.

Someone has drawn what detectives are describing as two pentagrams with what appears to be a black permanent marker, according to Detective Sgt. Scott Amaral. The larger of the two symbols includes five sets of initials: S.N.W., L.A.M., C.E.T., C.M.C. and K.M.G.

Had this been devil worshipping or witchcraft, Amaral said, detectives would typically have found other kinds of evidence, like an animal sacrifice. Nothing else was found in the vicinity of this graffiti, Amaral said.

This is a shame. I hope they can get everything cleaned up.

If it wasn't Pagans, Witches or Satanists. Isn't about time some morons stopped talking about black candles and animal sacrifices?

Just some stupid kids, if and when found, their parents should be fined, and the kids given scrubbing brushes to remove their scrawl.

Howl over, and out.

If It's Kids... Jul 8th. at 2:46:24 am EDT

why did their parents not teach them better? Not only is a criminal matter, but it's a matter of respect for someone else's property. If it's adults, see above statement. To me, this shows a flaw in not only those people but in society. If parents would teach kids to respect other's stuff, we wouldn't have some of this kind of stuff. If people were to decide not to act in a way their parents may have taught and DO decide to deface things, we as a society should show that this won't be tolerated. But that's just me. I get to see almost daily kids and adults doing disrespectful things.

then again, this is Providence, RI, and there are several colleges in the vicinity. Brown, RISD (which my twin attended) and URI. My twin has told me many tales of colllege hijinks being perpetrated by students of either her school (lunatic art students) or the crazies from URI. many times the kids have been written up in the papers for stuff like this mentioned in this present article.
it is a shame that the dopes decided to do this. I'll bet they were most likely drunk and wanted to cause some mischief. And yes, I'm glad the pagans--the real ones, were not dragged through the mud when something like this happens.

an article that doesn't blame Pagan-at least for now...
They should indeed count themselves lucky that the altar wasn't broken.
