Oglala Sioux Tribal Council Outlaws Abortion

Title: TRIBAL COUNCIL OUTLAWS ABORTION
The Oglala Sioux tribal council banned all abortions on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and suspended President Cecelia Fire Thunder on Tuesday, charging that she solicited donations on behalf of the tribe for a proposed abortion clinic without the council's approval.
"It was unauthorized political activity," said Will Peters, a tribal council representative from the Pine Ridge district. "It's just a matter of failing to communicate not only with the governing body but with the people that she was elected to serve."
"This whole thing was an ambush," Fire Thunder said, adding that she never solicited donations and never was asked whether she had actually accepted any money.

Just because you're from an ethnic minority doesn't mean you can't be a small-minded, prejudiced jerk.
I also asked Ms. Fire Thunder where to send the check and got no answer. From what I read, it appears that the Oglala aren't the only indigenous people who suddenly developed a bad case of sexism; ten years ago, the Oneida Nation attempted to remove women from its governing body. Note how the men censoring her use the language of control--they elected a woman they thought they could control to their interests, and now they are shocked, shocked! that she has ideas of her own.
Apparently Indian Health Services, a branch of the gubbermint many Native Americans have nothing but disgust for, agrees that indigenous women should not have abortion access (link) .

And on the side of a woman's right to choose what she does to and with her body. And last time I checked, my chromosomes were XY not XX. And yes I still have my external genitalia. I love all women and do solemnly affirm their right to do whatever the hell they want with their bodies, including the right to end their existence.

At some of the women in this community! I happen to be MALE, and a FEMINIST! And I still am, even though I was SEVERLY wronged by WOMEN over and OVER AGAIN!! I believe women should be president, generals, and church leaders. I believe women are smarter than men in some respects, but you people might just prove me wrong! I have met MANY anti-abortion WOMEN, many WOMEN who don't want female presidents (and they were VERY feminist) and many women who think women should not be priests in the Catholic church! UH, LADIES, not ALL men are out to take your rights, human or bodily, away from you! Just like not all of you are promoting EQUALITY! HELLO!!

Women and the men that love them need to stand up to government. I realize the article is only about a small 1st nations tribe, but it is just an example of what is going on all over the U.S.
Women are losing their ability to choose, and most of the population is sitting back letting it happen. With the rights of women being a fore-gone conclusion (since we've had them for as long as I remember) , people have become complacent and don't truly understand the implications of allowing the government ... any government ... to repeal those laws.
Next thing you know, you'll lose the right to vote, own property, divorce or keep custody of your own children.
We need another movement ...
We need women and girls to stand up for their rights ...
It can't just be grass roots organizations ... it needs to be hgh school students rallying together, college students leading the way, and women from all walks of life coming together in a unified group ...

This isn't just about Christians versus everyone else anymore. It's about men versus women. It's about destroying a woman's right to any choice and eliciting dominion over them by their male counterparts. Notice how this woman was not even asked what she thought, but tossed out. Why? For being in a place of leadership.
This country is no longer safe for women.
