FBI Releases Documents In Case Of American Indian Activist Leonard Peltier

Title: FBI RELEASES DOCUMENTS IN CASE OF AMERICAN INDIAN ACTIVIST LEONARD PELTIER
The FBI has released nearly 800 pages of material sought by attorneys for Leonard Peltier, the American Indian activist serving two life sentences in the 1975 slayings of two FBI agents on a reservation in South Dakota.
The documents outline agents' work as they checked with informants, including sources within the Seneca Indian Nation, and followed up on suspected Peltier sightings before his arrest, attorney Michael Kuzma said.
Under to a Freedom of Information Act request, the FBI turned over 797 of the 812 pages collected by the Buffalo field office in the Peltier case. It withheld 15 pages, citing exemptions for national security concerns and to protect the privacy of agents, according to court documents.
"I believe the sheer volume of material that wasn't released or turned over to Leonard's defense attorneys warrants Leonard's immediate release from prison," Kuzma said. "Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way."

The only so-called "national security concerns" I can think of that would still be relevant is that agents and thier superiors involved in framing Peltier are still working for the FBI and would be adversely affected, which isn't "national security ", it is a coverup for thier misdeeds and compulsive racism, plain and simple. Peltier was a scapegoat for the Nixon administrations fears of a tiny group of people that wanted a miniscule piece of land that was owed to them by treaty. The missing fifteen pages undoubtedly would convict the real murderers.
All documents should be released, along with Peltier.

...But it comes a few decades too late and it does not include the full disclosure which is the ONLY thing, at this late date, which can possibly clear this up beyond all reasonable doubt, short of someone actually traveling back in time to see the events with their own eyes.

A very murky case that should be re-opened, with Leonard Peltier being released on his own recognizance until he can be retried properly, or exhonerated without trial.
