Supreme Court Rejects Indian Activist Peltier's Appeal

Author: James Vicini, Reuters Source: Yahoo

Title: SUPREME COURT REJECTS INDIAN ACTIVIST PELTIER'S APPEAL
The U.S. Supreme Court rejected on Monday an appeal seeking parole for American Indian activist Leonard Peltier, who was convicted for the 1975 killings of two FBI agents.
Without any comment, the justices let stand a U.S. appeals court ruling that denied Peltier's bid for a parole hearing and for release from prison.
Peltier, whose case has received international attention, has been in federal prison in Leavenworth, Kansas, serving two consecutive life sentences for the slayings of the agents on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

have a new trial, found many stories didnt jive from witnesses, found that evidence by one woman eyewitness wasnt accurate and she was coached, found not even evidence to convict, and it was all thrown out. They want him to stay in jail, period. Justice is not the goal, or the result. He is becoming a powerful martyr where he is, and they may look back and wish they had released him long ago. We all know how the govt has treated native americans...no treaty yet has been unbroken. No legal case has favored them either, truth isnt a factor.
THey found so many holes in this case, they just buried it and him with it, hoping all the witnesses would die and take the truth with them.

| Conspiracy Theory? | Apr 20th. at 7:39:23 am EDT |

No one right now truly knows what happened in this incident. There's the fbi's story, his story and then obviously the truth. Instead of declaring him innocent and a prisoner of war why can't we give him a new trial and try to sort things out. He may in fact not be innocent, but then I forgot anything that has to do with the government is obviously a conspiracy theory to keep everyone else down. the problem is not trying to hold poliutiacl prisoners the problem is simple human inaccurfacies. The fact is 2 fbi agents were killedwho shot first while important isn't the sole fact that needs to be determined. Even one of the witnesses that testified at trial, said that he saw this man shoot the two agents point blank (wich btw the shot wounds support) but he later changed his tesimony what we need to decide is if he changed his testomony because he either lied in the first place, or if he changed it because he felt pressured by the people around him and got scared to tell the truth. So instead of automatically declaring everything that happens in and around ur government as a conspiracy theory lets instead try to find the real truth. just because a story is opposite of what the government gives us doesn't make it 100% true and vice versa, normally the truth is somewhere in the middle.

The day befor Bill Clinton left the White House In Jan. 2000 he gave Presidential pardons to about 200 crooks and swindlers who had payed him for that service. Here we have an innocent man who Clinton could have pardoned but who he didn't give a thought to. Another aspect of this case which bothers me as a civilian, and other similar cases such as that of Mumia in Philadelphia, is that the incompetent authorities just look for someone to "GET" instead of doing their real job of finding the real perpetraor. So in each case and hundreds more around the country murderers and other criminals are going free just because FBI and local cops and the courts have found someone to "GET". It's digusting!

...for the SC justices to sift through government crap here when political laurels await them in the government crap-pile labeled "Homeland Security."
We keep a vigilant watch over the safety of this person--just as we did with Nelson Mandella. And his release will bring similar results to this country, as Mr. Mandella's did to South Africa. For some, that's "inconceivable;" for others, it's inevitable.

that the government needs to look further into the circumstances surrounding this incident. And possibly give Mr. Peltier a new trial and get down to the ugly truth. It's out there somewhere. Somewhere between the two sides of the arguement, usually closer to one of the other two sides. That's why I say there's always three sides to any story.
BUT...if he is indeed guilty of commiting these crimes, then he needs to stay right where he is.
Blessed Be GF

... I find it a disgrace that Mr. Peltiers case is being treated with such disdain by the court, this man has been in prison for far too long, do the state and federal courts and prosecutors even listen to the circumstances surrounding this case? I fear not. Find More info -- HERE
