Knock On Wood When Traveling

Author: Karlen Evins Source: Nashville City Paper (TN)

Title: KNOCK ON WOOD WHEN TRAVELING
At T-minus seven days and counting until the big book release (complete with all the chaos that goes into preparing for a national publicity push), I find myself knocking on wood with most every last minute detail that falls into place.
Don’t ask me why, but whenever I think knock on wood (much less utter the phrase), I find myself automatically reaching for any wood in site (as if saying it is worthless without the gesture.)
Truth be told, knock on wood is one of our friendlier expressions. For some reason, it comforts us. And given its origin, it’s no wonder.

The Rev. Sparrowhawk (Yakima, Washington) - Email Me

I never knew where the origin of "knock on wood" came from. But, I had a pretty good theory. I guess my theory was correct. Now, I can literally knock on wood and feel better about it. Lol.

really dumb--maybe it's just too early in the morning-- but what great book is scheduled to be released in seven days?
