Pagan Pride Fest Sept. 22

Author: Deseret Morning News Source: Deseret Morning News

Title: PAGAN PRIDE FEST SEPT. 22
The sixth annual Salt Lake Pagan Pride Festival — with workshops, vendors and an Interactive Deity Altar — will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 22 at Murray Park.
The annual harvest festival this year also is commemorating the Veterans Administration decision to make the Pentacle, a nearly universal pagan symbol, an approved insignia on the grave markers of fallen pagan soldiers, according to festival spokesperson Rita Morgan.

zion-pagan (Layton, Utah) - Email Me

I attended the last two PPD gatherings, and found generally positive vibes, and nothing in the way of protests or harassment. Since moving to Utah a few years back, I've experienced surprising tolerance from LDS types. Two possible explanations: 1. They are so firmly in charge here they don't feel at all threatened by any other religion. 2. They know that outside Utah, they're considered just as bizarre as any Pagan. ;^)

...being reported in a newspaper which is basically run by the Mormons. Take look at the "Links" on the left side of the browser screen (where all the links to the various sections are listed) , and you will see that the newspaper is primarily for the LDS Church. I don't know of any other National newspapers that have separate sections -- or any sections -- dedicated to "Mission Reunions" or news concerning only ONE Church.
It is my view that they ran the story, not to inform Pagans of the Event, but to alert members of the LDS Church where to go to hold "protests" and when to be there. They just disguised it as a news story of interest to the general public.......
