Anti-LDS Message Left In Vandalism At Five Churches

Author: Lindsay Whitehurst   Source: The Salt Lake Tribune (UT)

Title: ANTI-LDS MESSAGE LEFT IN VANDALISM AT FIVE CHURCHES

Vandals threw rocks tied with antagonistic notes at five LDS Church meetinghouses overnight Saturday in South Jordan and Riverton.

A single rock was thrown at glass doors at each meetinghouse, said South Jordan police Officer B.J. Smith. Police have no suspects.

Typewritten notes attached to each rock with a black elastic hair-tie reading: "'Stop spreading your lies, pagans,'" Smith said.

The note may push the investigation into hate-crime territory, depending on whether the vandals intended to "intimidate or terrorize," Smith said.

Still More Stupidity Oct 12th. at 11:53:44 pm EDT

When I read or hear about these things, I am always reminded of of this quote:
"Brother, you say there is but one way to serve and worship the Great Spirit. If there is but one religion, why do you White people differ so much about it? Why not all agreed, as you can all read the Book? --Sagoyewatha (Red Jacket) , Seneca, c.1752-1830

The vandalism is likely done by stupid and/or "bored" teens. It's almost always the case when something is trashed, an animal is killed or something is stolen. Note, I said "almost always".

As for the term "pagan" being some sort of (implied) insult, I am proud to be pagan. I CHOOSE to live close to Nature. Send them vandals my way, so I can educate 'em as to what "pagan" really means.

that xtians don't hesitate to put conditions on things that they claim are unconditional, such as peace and love.

Not A Hate Crime? Oct 12th. at 9:09:36 pm EDT

Zodiac (Waverly, Nebraska) - Email Me

When gay activists were targeting the Mormons with similar attacks or worse, the media hesitated to call it "hate".

Wonder what the media will say about this.

Gaia help us if the xians ever actually get back together. They'll turn their sights on us if they do instead on each other.

It would almost be funny as the LDS are as fundy a group to not be the Westboro Baptist Church as you could get, at least when I was living there. South Jordan is just a few miles from my old house in Midvale.

Figure out is why Christians are so adamant about hating pagans, lower case for a reason. If you look at the creation of the Catholic church and the steady de-evolution of that faith "THEY" not us are the true descendants of the old pagan faiths.

We have either tried to reconstruct it with opinion and innuendo or out of whole cloth made it up. They are the ones continuing the old practices that most Pagans gave up upon the inquisitions. The hate, persecution and human sacrifice was continued on by them in their gods' name even today.

Personally, I see their faith falling apart at the seems and humans are returning to their original ties, and that is to the Earth. We just don't need to sacrifice our humanity and freedom in the process of returning to the natural ways.

Freedom is the light of all sentient beings, granted by the mother and father. It is the dogmatic beliefs that have to be right and seek control of the mind, body, and soul are the deviant "Satanic" paths, and are crumbling finally before our eyes after five thousand years of repression and slavery of the spirit!

...I find that hate crime extremely offensive. To label Mormons as pagan is an insult to the pagan community.

Come on, fundies; can't you come up with a new and more accurate epithet?

LDS Are Christain Too Oct 12th. at 5:26:53 pm EDT

Silver Amythyst (Gonzales, California) - Email Me

Sometimes I really don't get Christians at all. They preach of love and peace, yet they do something so opposite to people that believe in the same god as they do.
I thought that if you believe that Jesus is the savior of all mankind, then you are Christian, even if you are Catholic, LDS, Jehovah's Witness, Baptist or what ever.
Doesn't it say somewhere in the bible that you are not supposed to judge someone, that's god's job. What a bunch of hypocrites.
Ok now that I got all that ranting out I feel so much better :D
