Ghosts And Witches, Oh My!

Title: GHOSTS AND WITCHES, OH MY!
Witches and ghosts: these fearsome characters have been staples of horror movies since the beginning of the movie industry. They star in stories told around campfires or during childhood sleepovers. And, though we may not want to admit it, they’re the reason we quicken our pace and glance furtively over our shoulders when we pass by a rickety old house after sundown.
With roots that reach back to the early days of the country, Rockingham County boasts its fair share of stories about ghosts and witches. But, according to several local historians, these eerie figures bear no resemblance to the scaremongers of popular movies. Instead, they say that stories about ghosts and witches offer a fascinating snapshot into the traditional beliefs of our Valley ancestors.
