Father Guilty In Prayer Death Case

Author: AP Source: CBS News

Title: FATHER GUILTY IN PRAYER DEATH CASE
A Wisconsin man accused of killing his 11-year-old daughter by praying instead of seeking medical care was found guilty Saturday of second-degree reckless homicide.
Dale Neumann, 47, was convicted in the March 23, 2003, death of his daughter, Madeline, from undiagnosed diabetes. Prosecutors contended he should have rushed the girl to a hospital because she couldn't walk, talk, eat or speak. Instead, Madeline died on the floor of the family's rural Weston home as people surrounded her and prayed. Someone called 911 when she stopped breathing.

Pheonix Skye (Jacksonville, Florida) - Email Me

It's a sad fact when a parent will not do everything within their power for the life of their child. I don't throw stones because people can roll boulders over me, however it just baffles me that a parent could do this to their child. The biblical arguments aside (Heaven helps those who help themselves) it is just disgusting that they put themselves and their personal beliefs before common sense (which yes I know isn't so common) . In the past 6 months in my area, we have had over 10 children die due to parents leaving them in cars, not knowing where the young ones are and they wander into retention ponds & swimming pools. My heart and soul ache for the innocent lost and the parents who couldn't have the time to protect their children.

If the person who called 911 has been shunned by the rest of the group?
I hope this father feels guilty for the death of his daughter, but I doubt it. 'God' didn't heal her, therefore it must have been 'God's' will that she die.
Is anyone else reminded of the preacher in the flood? Three times, people tried to get the preacher away from the rapidly flooding church, only to be told by the preacher that there was no need - that God would save him. He died in the flood, and in Heaven, asked God "Why didn't you save me?", to which God replied, "I tried three times to save you, and each time, you declined."
