Police Say Man Mutilated Cat As Part Of A Satanic Ritual

Title: POLICE SAY MAN MUTILATED CAT AS PART OF A SATANIC RITUAL
Roane County Sheriff Todd Cole says he's glad a Spencer man's going to jail for cutting the head off a cat in what police say was a satanic ritual.
A week ago, Kenneth Leroy McCoy, 23, pleaded guilty in Roane Circuit Court to separate crimes that, if anything else, struck police in the rural area as extremely unordinary.
In addition to animal cruelty, McCoy also pleaded guilty to a state hate crime for writing a threatening letter to a Hispanic neighbor.
[Deputy James] Caldwell reported that the cat had been laid in the middle of a pentagram spray- painted on the concrete floor of the shelter. The cat's feet were tied together with a shoestring.
A pentagram is a five-pointed star sometimes associated with either Satanism or witchcraft.

a little more clarification in regards to the pentagram reference. An INVERTED pentagram/pentacle is the symbol chosen by satanists (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) . Also, in some Craft trads, it's the sign of a second degree. If the journalist wants to put out accurate reporting, he/she could afford to take the time to make sure their facts are correct, instead of relying on half-truths and hearsay. I'm sure the satanists among our pagan ranks are just as offended by this as I am. I think the idea of animals being slaughtered brutally by someone with a twisted, perverted mind is abominable. It makes me wonder if the person hadn't been caught, they would proceed from killing animals to people. It's disgusting.
I also think in these situations it is our DUTY to inform law enforcement about who and what we are, what we DON'T do, and that we can be trusted as a source of information Gods forbid another horrible act like that occurs again. Don't let some nutcase fundie be the one informing law enforcement about how we eat babies and sacrifice animals. If we want to stop people from making us out to be monsters, we need to step up and take action.

It's whackos like this that give Pagans a bad name. But somehow the Xtians don't seem to see from the other side of the fence that whackos like Pat Robertson give their religion a bad name to us...lol. Psychos are psychos in any religion, it's just sad that there are those who feel that they need to slander a religion by saying they did what they did because of their faith.

Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
My daughter is a Satanist and I would trust her to treat kids and animals kindly not only because of the way she was raised but because of her belief system.
This person may call himself a Satanist all he wants, the law and press too but that doesn't make him a Satanist. No true Satanist would do something like that to an animal.
He's just a sick, frustrated, angry person that needs to deal with that not use excuses for his behavior.

Kenneth Leroy McCoy is to Satanism as Fred Phelps is to Christianity. People may label themselves as they wish, including to be provocative, and without following any of the tenets of the claimed affiliation.
That said, best that he is off the streets for awhile. Perhaps he will even find 'redemption' while serving his sentence.

I suppose, gives you some warped meaning to your desire to mutilate and kill living things. I would not think even satanists need to torture animals or people - of course I am not a satanist so I am not sure about that - but, if it were a requirement then some of us would have heard of it and there would be a few less satanists.

to his god, why doesn't he sacrifice himself? Cut off his OWN head with a chain saw instead of mutilating that poor cat - black of course - so often the target of such brutality.
Perhaps he can't cut off his own head because it's too far up his ass.
