Pagan Association Stops Meeting

Author: Shannon Miller Source: Marshall Parthenon (WV)

Title: PAGAN ASSOCIATION STOPS MEETING
Marshall University's Pagan Association, which once received national media attention, no longer meets on campus.
Marty Laubach, professor of sociology at Marshall and faculty advisor for the Marshall Pagan Association, said no one from the association has contacted him this semester and the members may no longer be together as a group. He said the association most likely did not drift apart due to conflict within the group, but because members have become more involved with their studies.

In one of Terry Pratchett's books, he makes the observation that the plural of "wizard" is "wizards", but the plural of "witch" is "argument".
Never have truer words been penned, and never has anything he wrote been even more applicable to the real world than the Discworld. lol

Ok, here's the thing... This sort of thing happens so often in the pagan community that I'm surprised it would even make news. At least nobody mentioned herding cats...

------> (... that is, most Christians will insist that Christianity IS confined to only one set of beliefs, but because they can't agree on what those are, we on the outside just call them all Christians.)

There are lots of people who think of themselves as being under the category of 'Christian'; however, different groups have different beliefs about what that title means.
Some people think being a Christian means believing on an intellectual level that Yahshua (Jesus) rose from the dead after dying on the cross. Others believe being a Christian means not necessarily believing Jesus rose from the dead or performed miracles, but that his teachings are worth living by. Others believe it's necessary to live communally as illustrated in the Book of Acts.
'Christians' in each of these groups may believe that those in the other groups aren't REALLY 'Christian', but the problem is that they all CALL themselves Christian. It's easy to lump them together from the outside, and most non-Christians tend to think of anyone as a Christian if their religious beliefs seem to center around the figure of Christ.
Anyway, these sorts of doctrinal differences are probably what the man in the article meant when he suggested that Christianity was "not confined to one set of beliefs".

" He said Neo-paganism, like Christianity, is not confined to just one set of beliefs. "
... But I thought that Christianity was confined to just one set of beliefs?
