They agree that some of those who ask for spells truly want to learn, and they deserve to be taught spellcrafting. The always thoughtful and plain-spoken Niall Leighton was the only person to take on the subject of "Can You Ever Have Too Many Athames?". He does an excellent and witty job of trying to "filter out the twaddle from the gutter end of the New Age marketplace". Don't miss this one! Nov '99 Gender and Nature in Contemporary NeoPaganism is an in-depth look at the connections between the social/political movements of human rights, feminism and ecology and religion. Salamantis contends that the basic theology of Western monotheism has driven the ecological degradation we are currently dealing with, and cautions that Pagan thea/ology, too, has possible traps of bigotry and gender expectations we must be careful not to fall into. Historical Facts and Fallacies brought several interesting viewpoints, ranging from an essay debunking a lot of popular myths to the opinion that bickering over the historical records of the Burning Times cheapens the sacrifice made by those whose lives were taken. -- Essay # 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 Nov '99 Psychic Development The Psychic Development topic gave us three excellent essays explaining how to develop one's psychic ability, as well as the reasons for it.
