20,000 'Spirit Articles' Posted - Thank You Wren!

Author: Fritz Jung Source: Witchvox Central

Title: 20,000 'Spirit Articles' Posted - Thank You Wren!
This morning I noticed that Wren has just passed the 20,000 articles posted mark - I claim this space to personally thank her for her dedication to posting 'Spirit and community related news' for all these years. Thanks honey!
HISTORY: Wren's Nest was born out of a chat forum (a bastardized guest book script entitled the 'Magick Beans Coffee House') I created back in 1996 on a site we ran just prior to launching the Witches' Voice in 1997.
The option to add additional information related to the articles (aka 'comments') was added in July of 2002 - To date, 179,692 comments have been posted, often enhancing or providing additional information related to the articles.
Wren's Nest has seen some 47,882,049 page requests over the past 12 years and has been called up in cell phones and on personal computers via RSS readers thousands of times daily since we introduced that option in 2003.
As her husband, lover and friend, I can personally attest to her noting 'Gotta post the news', on a near daily basis, over all these years - Thank YOU honey for this gift to the Pagan communities. - I also take this space to thank our good friend Christina Aubin for guest hosting the 'Nest during some of the darker times in Wren's life.
Fritz Jung
PS: That pic of her on the front page of Witchvox doesn't do her justice - She is a beautiful and light filed creature and I am indeed the luckiest Witch in the world.

Fritz, with such precise statistical statements, are you sure there was never a record glitch, or lost post record during a database version migration, where Wren's Nest might have had 3 or 17 more articles or comments than noted, or the site another thousand or more hits or page loads? ;-)
Thanks to all involved, most visibly Wren and Fritz but many others lurking in the shadows as well, for all of the contributions of technology, operational activities, and developing an ethical model to distance commerce from religion as much as may be possible while creating an invaluable resource.

I have to say, of all Pagan sites, this is still the main one I recommend to people. Several of my friends that are not Pagan even come here to check the news and articles. I hope this runs for many more years.
Thanks again guys!

Wren and Fritz,
Been a reader since before you moved to Florida. When I was asked to create a newsletter for Alternate Religions Educational Network [AREN], this was the first place I would head to check what was happening.
Well ACTION has just started its fifth year and a lot of research has started with the articles that get posted here to put out a newsletter that goes out 8 times a year. If you had not been here, ACTION would have never gotten started.
I am sure there are a lot of other Pagan newsletters that start by reviewing what you put up here as well. So you have inspired a lot of Pagan media.
Blessed Be,
Christopher Blackwell Editor of ACTION

Well, I've been lazy and meant for a long time to thank Wren and Fritz for keeping a breathing hole open in the ice of this somewhat monolithic and very secular Lutheran culture on the edge of the tundra. Now I have to, seing as how everyone else is too! And a special thank you to Wren for trawling the vast and often none too positive ocean of news and fishing out many of the better pieces relating to pagnism in all its manifestations. Intelligence, sincerity, and, yes, humour too, make this a resource that help to keep my feet on the path. Thank you!

This has been a useful place for the exchange of ideas, a much-needed place for a no-longer-so-young witch, once upon a time, to figure out what all of it did (and did not) mean to her. I appreciate it, very much.
I hope you enjoy it, oh, every bit as much as we do.
