More: Moscow Priest Could Have Been Killed By Extremists, Pagans – Sources

Author: Interfax   Source: Interfax

Title: MOSCOW PRIEST COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY EXTREMISTS, PAGANS – SOURCES

Moscow priest Daniil Sysoyev most likely has been killed for his missionary activity among the non-Orthodox Russian population, a source at law enforcement agencies told Interfax.

"He had recently received constant death threats from some extremist organizations. Daniil Sysoyev complained about it several times to the Federal Security Service," the source said.

Fr. Daniil might also have been killed by members from the so-called sect of Rodnovers (Slavic Neo-pagans), the source told Interfax.

Investigators are following all lines of inquiry but this theory remains the main one, he said.

Blaming Pagans.... Nov 22nd. at 12:20:30 pm EST

Seems to be becoming a pastime...

May no stone be left unturned, but I doubt any Pagans did it---unless he was seriously harassing them. Still, I am more inclined to believe that this was extremists from the "other" Abrahamaic religion, since he was a critic..

"Investigators are looking at all possible versions, but we are inclined to think that the main motive of the crime was religious hatred," a spokesperson said."

A "spokesperson" from where? Who does the so-called "spokesperson" represent?

Without that information, the statement has no credibility.

This looks like a hatchet job to me. Blaming Pagans has always been easy for the mainstream religion....

Russia has a society of pre-xian Pagans within its borders. I doubt they did it. Look to its fellow abrahamic cult.

Personally, I don't understand how it could make sense that a group of neo-pagans would become angry about the going-ons of Christians and Muslims trying to win each other over to each other's side. I don't know much about the Rodnovers, but I know enough to say this looks like a silent Holy war between two groups, and only two groups, and it doesn't include the Rodnovers. Where is there no theory mentioned about, I don't know, angry Muslim extremists who might have assassinated him? To not consider that as a theory is ludicrous.

So if someone is killed, it's okay, you have the pagans to use as scapegoats! (As long as it keeps muslim extremists, whom you are so afraid of, off of your backs) .
