Self-Proclaimed Prophet Calls Victim A 'Witch'

Author: Carl Hessler Jr.   Source: Pottstown Mercury (PA)

Title: SELF-PROCLAIMED PROPHET CALLS VICTIM A 'WITCH'

Proclaiming to be a prophet influenced by the "Holy Spirit," a Bechtelsville area woman dramatically stood up in court and called the woman she's accused of stalking a witch.

"(She) is a very powerful witch, it's true. She has grown more insolent," Sharlene Andreyko bellowed in a Montgomery County courtroom on Tuesday as she stared at the Lower Pottsgrove woman who prosecutors say she repeatedly stalked. "I am here making an accusation that I do not do lightly. This is very, very real. I am not a crazed lunatic."

Andreyko, 50, of Lenape Road, who is representing herself at trial, spoke to a riveted jury in a narrative fashion as she denied the stalking charge and tried to explain the reasons she sent religious-themed letters to the Maple Glen Court woman and her husband.

with the poster who called this loon a "church lady" (apparently a reference to the excellent series of skits done on Saturday Night Live some years back)
The church lady was one of my favorite skits as it highlighted the mania and paranoia these fundys are not only prone to, but are ENCOURAGED to have by their demented church pastors. Clearly this is a recipe for serious trouble. What happens if this fruitcake doesn't realize the error of her wayssoon? Will she then resort to old testament-style killing of "unbelievers"? It's already happened to abortion clinic doctors, What's to stop it from happening to her stalking victim?
fundyism is a dangerous cult.

Another Christian stuck in the Old Testament, who failed to read the New in a proper light. . .Hmmm, just like most so-called fundamentalists and evangelicals. Seriously though it sounds like the woman needs some massive medications to help with her paranoid schizophrenia.

that makes me wonder if small towns are all that are cracked up to be. It would appear the "insolent" one is the one doing all the screaming at the moment-not the one accused.
Maginfy this a few times and you have the current situation in many parts of Africa. this is how it always begins. She is using religion to justify her hatred because she has an axe to grind, but doesn't want to come out and say it. It's the obverse of the "devil made me do it" syndrome. Only it's "god" this time.
It makes me very glad to have become a Pagan.
The other posters are right. She needs a nice padded room and plenty of tranquilizers, and a therapist to write "just plain nuts" on her evaluation.

It was a woman exactly like this person who caused me to forsake Christianity. In my case, the person in question also happened to be the adoptive mother of whom was once a very close friend. People like these need to be institutionalized, because they're a danger to society!

Guilty of something? Inept? Feeling 2 inches tall because you're a schmuck? Got a church lady complex? Or perhaps you're an unrecognized prophet? Or a North Carolina politician?

Accuse another of being an Other! Preferably the very person you're doing wrong or in competition with...why, maybe you can even sue **them**! Or boldly stand up in church, whip out a finger, and point. Make your insanity or wrongdoing work for you, not against you!

Go ahead, make a spectacle of yourself. You've earned it, you crazy loon. And everyone will love ya for it. Yeah.

Of course, it's funnier if you imagine it as a SNL type skit complete with characters.

I've heard a few of these Xian self-proclaimed "prophets" myself. They actually think they have the Holy Spirit " Gift or Prophecy" and " Gift of Discernment" and they even go so far as to call each other " saints."

The point was made by others here that she may not be in fact nuts but clever in trying to APPEAR insane by setting up this act. Problem is if she was this clever she would have hid her stalking better than she apparently did.

And if she was faking it, prosecutors could call in character witnesses who knew her to show that her behavior during the time period of her stalking her victim was more rational than what she is showing in court.

My observation of the Bibliolater Xians coincides with what the article mentioned reports Andreyko own words in court. Either she is very clever or she really is a religious whackjob.

If she was that clever, again, she would have covered her tracks better in her stalking. And she would not have sent the letters to the police and a judge.

Andreyko's responses to the judge are clearly far right self-righteousness " I'm with God" stuff. The " spirit of Jezebel" stuff is straight out of a Christian belief about " spiritual warfare" .

I'd be interested in how Andreyko has been "nutured" in her delusions. Since she is the daughter of a minister, I'd take a little look at him and his church. I'd also look at what else she's been exposed to. Dimes to donuts a few Xian " experts" names will pop up.

I used to live near Bechtelsville, had considered renting a place there, because it's so nicely removed from society. Except that it's... VERY removed from society. It's in the middle of nowhere. If you plan on having a job, plan on having an hour-long commute to the nearest center of, well, anything. It's a very Christian community. This woman's behaviour is in no way surprising to me. What surprises me is that it made the paper (not that the Mercury is some huge publication, but still...)

I don't think this woman is crazy at all. She's just clever. She knows that if she defamed this woman directly or made violent threats in her letters, she would be locked up for sure. Instead she blames the whole thing on the holy spirit and suddenly she isn't 'making threats". Can't blame her. She's only doing this because God can't call fedex and He happened to already have her number or something. To borrow an allegory from her 'favorite' book, she's the wolf in sheeps clothing. She pretends to be meekly following with the rest of the flock while she preys upon them.
I hope they lock her up for a very long time. Her victims deserve to have their lives back.

Who'd Know Dec 16th. at 12:24:52 pm EST

Ahr-Ohn (Bridgeport, Connecticut) - Email Me

I've heard, "Judge not, lest you yourself also be judged," but I've also heard, "It takes one to know one." Whether anyone accused is a really evil Witch, I'm not sure I could judge that.

"At one point during the trial, Judge Steven T. O'Neill cleared jurors from the courtroom and scolded Andreyko for flashing props such as a miniature Bible in view of jurors."

Rules of Evidence? I think this woman's relationship to The Bible is of relevance to the Jury, and that action might be appealed. Misdemeanor carries 2˝-5 years, but this prophet might be found by a jury ot be Criminally Insane.

Someone have a link, to Pat Robertson's demise? I didn't see anything on Google. If no Yamadutis can be coaxed to deal with that one, I'm kind of stuck.
