Update: 'Prophet' Found Guilty Of Stalking

Author: Carl Hessler, Jr.   Source: The Reporter Online (PA)

Title: 'PROPHET' FOUND GUILTY OF STALKING

A self-proclaimed prophet who spouted biblical passages to rail against a Lower Pottsgrove couple showed no emotion as a jury determined her conduct caused emotional distress for the couple.

The Montgomery County jury deliberated just 10 minutes on Wednesday before convicting Sharlene Andreyko, 50, of Lenape Road, Bechtelsville, of a misdemeanor charge of stalking in connection with incidents that occurred between December 2008 and March 2009.

"A marriage to a witch is forbidden by God. If a witch used witchcraft to gain a husband her marriage and her children are not valid," Andreyko said during her closing statement to jurors, arguing that labeling her a stalker "blasphemes" the role the Holy Spirit gave her.

. . . imagine how different the press would be.

Notice the headlines call her a "prophet," not a "devout Christian."

If it were a Pagan doing the stalking, that would have been in the headlines.

Death Threats? Dec 19th. at 4:52:50 pm EST

Ahr-Ohn (Bridgeport, Connecticut) - Email Me

Claiming to be the Hand of God, and that God executes Witches, and that someone is a Witch, sounds to me like a Death Threat, and she may have gotten off too lightly.

I don't know why she'd have to shield herself from Photographers, since reasonable regard for Privacy should have taken care of that, not to mention Taste.

If a competant attourney can attend her, she might have a defense, and even grounds for Appeal, if some quack prescribed Prozac, or other Fluoxetine preparation, for somethng like Menopause or Overweight. That stuff makes people charge large groups of police officers with grossly inadequate weapons, and is too awful a fate, even if she's to be taken seriously.

...and this is one of the many reasons I've got a black belt and a laywer on retainer. I'm supprised the legal system even prosecuted. Don't trust the government to protect you from these nuts. Protect yourself!

this loon had a thing for the victim's husband when they were in business school together. He wasn't interested in her, but she couldn't take the rejection, so she sets out to destroy the guy's wife in the insane hope that he'll leave his wife and want to be with her. What a sicko! This sounds like a job for Prozac!

The Scary Thing.. Dec 18th. at 4:07:11 pm EST

Seleya (Prescott, Arizona) - Email Me

...Is that everyday, there are more and more nutters out there, just like her! It doesn't take much for a person like this to go over the edge and become a real physical threat to some poor unsuspecting "victim".

At least this one will be off the streets for a while.

Good--but Good Grief! Dec 17th. at 9:54:58 pm EST

bigcat (peoria, Illinois) - Email Me

Wow! Talk about a mental health issue! The underlying reason is that she had a grudge against the lady for marrying her "intended" in the first place and she was nursing that for twenty years? She was becoming a real danger to her victims. If this had been allowed to continue, the next step would have been a brutal assault or murder of either the lady or the couple. One doesn't have to be a prophet to see that.
After all, "god" would have told her to do it.
While I pity the woman for her problem, and hope she gets help for it, I hope the couple can be kept safe once she's free again. She's not going to give this up anytime soon.

that our judicial system is functional enough to protect us from these loonies!! I hope this sends a message to all of these so-called Christian "prophets" to mind their bounds!

At Least. . . Dec 17th. at 6:49:24 pm EST

Dynnys Derwydd (Lubbock, Texas) - Email Me

. . .some blinkered judge or jury didn't find her not guilty because she's a "Christian" and her victim an alleged witch. There are small towns all over the U.S.A. which that could likely happen.

This time justice prevailed.

She also left her dog in the car for that hour + hearing in freezing (or below) weather. I'd like to see a neglect charge tacked on there too, in case the mental examiner passes her for trial.

Good Dec 17th. at 3:28:48 pm EST

Ursyl (Murrysville, Pennsylvania) - Email Me

Clearly this woman needs some serious mental health help, and all of her victims deserve to be protected from her.

When reading the first story on this, my first thought was thank Goodness (for all concerned) that she doesn't live local to us. Her head would explode at the very thought of our UU church! LOL
