Meet The Texas Taliban

Author: Salem-News.com Source: Salem-News.com (OR)

Title: MEET THE TEXAS TALIBAN
The group thinkprogress.org reports that a Texas town has assumed a position similar to the group Hezbollah, whose name equates to "Army of God". Their motto is "spritual warfare" against all who don't believe in their Christianity.
The evangelical Christian hate group "Repent Amarillo" is reportedly terrorizing the town of Amarillo, Texas.
Repent fashions itself as a sort of militia and targets a wide range of community members they deem offensive to their theology: gays, liberal Christians, Muslims, environmentalists, breast cancer events that do not highlight abortion, Halloween, "spring break events," and pornography shops. On its website, Repent has posted a "Warfare Map" of its enemies in town.

Are just the ground troops for those in political power who have moved in the shadows manipulating policy on everything from internal domestic police state ventures to our conduct in the middle east.
I have seen these people in action when they have no restraint and multimillion dollar weapon systems at their disposal. Those on the receiving end of this hate did not fair to well.

Those who take the stance that states "As long as they leave me alone" need to fully read that article.
As I stated before these are the ground troops for people that don't want to get their hands dirty. You can find these people anywhere, and in some strange places.

This has been in the works for a while and can be linked from Focus on the Family to the Heritage Foundation. Talking heads like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and every Evangelical Home Schooled nut supports this.
And don't make any assumptions or mistakes, YOU are one of the targets. We need to organize, to at least drown out the filth they are looking to spread. And their plan is no less then bringing about Armageddon and the end-times.

I've seen some of this stuff being done in my region, just not so openly, nor on such a large scale -- yet. (Many of the local Baptists are getting ready, though) Perhaps the best way to combat it is to use legal means, such as simply video-taping members of the group as they go about the public portions of their lives (do any of them happen to visit certain, *ahem*, establishments no real Christian should ever be in? TAPE IT!!) . Tit-for-tat is what it's called, and it really does work.
Keep in mind, resorting to physical violence to stop these goons is exactly what they want you to do (so they can take you to court and PROVE how violent the "satanists" all are!) , so pull back on the reigns and stop with the knife-sharpening crap. These kinds of people pay a lot more attention to losing their bankrolls than to any amount of fist-thumping or verbal threats. Oh, defend yourselves and your families when it actually comes to that, but don't go starting things. (anyone comes at me with harmful intent, they're going to get a lot of bruises in the process.....) On another note.....
How to recognize a terrorist at any time: Speech and/or actions designed to incite hatred towards others who are perceived as being "different"; actual incitement of others to harass, physically harm, and MURDER those who are perceived as being "different"; use of physical violence against others who are perceived as being "different". There are others ways to know when you are dealing with a terrorist, but these should be enough to alert the average person. Oh, and terrorists are not "Muslim" or "Christian", nor are they "Pagan" or "Druid" -- they are just bottom-feeding, scum-sucking terrorists.
How to know when someone is just sore about not getting their own way: They make up stories about how "the other side" gets all the breaks while "the good guys" (always the sore-head's favorite group[s]) "get the shaft". These people often, but do not always, use the same tactics as the terrorists. The truly frightening thing is that there is all too often very little difference between a sore-head and an actual terrorist. (Yes, this is aimed at folks who espouse the Republican Right-wing Conservative political view - but it's also aimed at everyone else at the same time)
--nasionnaich (p.s., Islam really is a peaceful religion. It's every bit as peaceful as Christianity, which, if you look for it in the right parts of the Christian Bible, openly calls for the killing of all non-believers. Suck it up.)

Hindustaniwarrior (Kansas City, Missouri) - Email Me

There's only one issue.....there are those who want to usurp our legal rights as Americans to practice the faith of our choice...Now we have congressmen trying to pass HR 397, which would declare this nation as being founded as a Christian Nation...see link below.....Apparently these people never saw the treaty of Tripoli.....more likely, they don't care, as it goes contrary to their beliefs. Meanwhile, I keep my blades, and firearms in good working order....as I swore that I would defend these United States against all enemies, foreign AND domestic. As a proud 4x Combat Veteran, that will not change.Vote informed, petition, and follow what goes on with our religious rights, and those of other minority religions. I remember what it was like to be beaten by school authorities because of my ethnicity. I'll be damned if I let it happen again without a fight.

R. Cicero (Seattle, Washington) - Email Me

Well, hopefully none. This is not the first or last security issue any of us will face, and we can suppose that the FBI is aleady sniffing up its butt. I actually worry about the feds more than these clowns--remember Waco? And those were actually nice people. As for these royal douches, their ideas are (in theory) constitutionally protected but perhaps some of their speech and/or openly aggressive actions will eventually take them places, like the grave, or prison. It never hurts to have a decent relationship with law enforcement or the local press if you're a retailer, but if things happen, make it private, or go federal and be repetitive. These are bullies--doing nothing rarely works, but their stupidity will eventually make them wish they'd stayed home and quietly read Scripture.

| "Sharpening Knives" And Discrimination For Texas | Mar 10th. at 12:08:26 pm EST
|

Adriana (Blue Springs, Missouri) - Email Me

I understand that people get twitchy at the thought of people talking about "sharpening knives to get ready" but being one of the ones who will be doing that, maybe it needs to be explained why we think that way.
I can't speak for everyone, but i myself will be doing to protect me and my kids. I'm not planning on fighting unless i need to, but there's been a church in the town next to me that has been raising its children for at least 10 years if not longer to believe it is their duty to KILL, not speak out against, not make threats against, not stalk or ruin lives of, but KILL everyone who doesn't agree with they're ways of thinking. And We're on the top of their lists. I had a friend in high school who went to this church and she was trying to find a safe way to get away from it because she didn't agree with it. If this comes to pass and these people get what they want, how many other nut jobs will join? I won't start a fight, but if one is brought to me or my kids, I will end one.
And i agree that everyone discriminating against Texas needs to stop and realize that we have nut jobs all over the place, and not all of them are xtian. There's been plenty of Pagan nuts over in the UK recently. And i'm in Missouri and i've got some really severe xtain nuts here.
Too many people are wanting to start another witch burning, and they are looking for any and every excuse to do it. And I don't know about you, but i for one will not go quietly if they succeed. And i won't hide in the broom closet and be quiet in order to avoid being found. I hate fighting, but i'll do it if it comes down to it.

more and more groups keep showing up like this, you had the Palin story not to long ago too, its one thing if these were just a small group of people with no real threat or ability to carry out, but they have people in the right places to really make things happen, im not worried il protect my own. I hope others wake up to what is comn and start to work against this.

Mariah Windrider (Grand Terrace, California) - Email Me

I noticed at the end of the article that a grassroots movement against these terrorists has arisen and is called "Angel Action". Sounds like a bunch of sane Christians to me, and a welcome bunch to boot.
Another small item to remember, once you put your trash out on the curb it is no longer "yours" and anyone can go through it, although local health codes may control part of that. Do remember that digging in someone's trash can be a health hazard!
Even if all the Abrahamic type religions disappeared off the Earth, more would be invented. Some people have a psychological need for justification of their desire to control themselves by controlling the world around them. This is handled lately by the Abrahamics, but if they didn't exist, some other religion of "my way or the highway" would be invented.
People who show up outside parties (of any kind) in the middle of the night with bullhorns are violating statutes against disturbing the peace. People whose organization takes on driving legitimate businesses out of town or out of business may face antitrust type lawsuits. Save the Predators for the ones you can't get to with lawsuits...

| A Suggestion For Dealing With This | Mar 10th. at 6:09:10 am EST
|

Rev. Viktoria Whittaker (Palenville, New York) - Email Me

There's no doubt that we are under threat. I strongly suggest that we hold "Pagan town Meetings" in our communities, online and otherwise, to formulate our strategies for responding to this; protecting ourselves, our families and our community. I believe that our very survival may depend on putting aside our various rivalries and feuds and remembering that we are ALL pagans and we are ALL under threat. We need to come up with a strong, unified response to let these people know that we are NOT easy pickings.

Keep your eyes open. I'm only going to type this up once.
These are violent, irrational bullies. They only back down once somebody knocks some of their incisors down their throats. They do not respond to legal threats made against them, nor do they give a f**k about protests and demonstrations. As was repeated numerously here, these are _terrorists_. We won't get anywhere with them unless Predator drones are involved.
Any stupid questions?

I just checked out Repent Amarillo's "Warfare Map" and one of the main targets they are keeping track of is "Occult Witchcraft", with two local pagan/head shops listed, as well as the exact meeting location of the local pagan circle. 'Nuff said?

| We Need To Organize... | Mar 10th. at 12:06:33 am EST
|

Ruadh Saoirse (Amherst, Massachusetts) - Email Me

We need to organize to protect ourselves. This is only the dominionist evangelical agenda in action. At least ten percent of our Senate are members of the Family (if you haven't read "The Family" by Jeff Sharlet, you are missing an amazing book and fair warning) , ditto Congress, "Jesus Camps" and "spiritual warfare" abound, and yes, as we have come out of the closet we are going to be targets. (Direct quote from the film "Jesus Camp" re: Harry Potter: "Warlocks are the enemies of Christ.") . I assure you that I am not prone to conspiracy theories and do not sit around all day thinking about it, but the fact that this is a growing movement that can impact us terribly is just... in my face these days. We need a well-funded, well-run organization that will aggressively call these folks (and any others) out legally and with social pressure any time they tread on any Wiccan or Pagan's rights, and I'm going to throw in all the practitioners of Native, indigenous and other folk traditions too. I'm planning the organization. Stay tuned, and please get in touch if you are interested.

"Repent not only took video of each member, but obtained the swingers' license plates and dug through their trash, informing neighbors and coworkers of what was once private." These actions are ILLEGAL. It's called stalking and slander (or is it libel... can never remember) . The digging through the trash could be called attempted identity theft without any stretch of the imagination. Seriously.

| They Are Terrorists | Mar 9th. at 7:49:41 pm EST
|

Dracina (Hershey, Pennsylvania) - Email Me

What has always amazed me is that many people don't believe that terrorism is present in the United States. This group, the KKK, and many others are the same as the Taliban, Mossad, and Hamas. They are bullies who want things their way and when that does not occur they turn to illegal tactics. (Witness recent murder of Hamas leader by the Mossad)
I have no problem with people having a different opinion or belief than I have. I have no problem with people stating that opinion or belief as long as they do no harm to another person. These people in this little "Army of God" have the right to say what they want but they do not have the right to hurt other people. Eventually, they will be found to be just like many of the cults that are out there - and, yes, I belief Christianity to be a cult.
The problem is that there is a faction that wants this country to become a Christian nation. That smacks up against what this country was founded upon - for one thing, freedom of religion. Because of that, would not people who want to force everyone to be Christian be going against this country? Are they not terrorists? I believe they are and that they should be treated as terrorists. What is sad, though, is that these people do not practice the one teaching that their Savior taught. Yes, Jesus said to go out and convert others but He also taught that people should love one another.

don't like their tactics, then do something about it. Using violence to fight violence just leaves a lot of blood spilled in the end on both sides. And it has nothing to do with being namby-pamby, sunshine and rainbows nonsense. We, as pagans have freedom of speech too, so maybe we ought to use it to OUR advantage. Instead of whining and rambling about conspiracy theories, maybe we can show these crazies for what they really are by exposing their tactics. Truth is a powerful tool, if used in the right way. I am fed up with the resident paranoiacs spreading their ugliness here.
