Update: Reservist Accused Of Attacking Priest Won't Be Charged

Author: Tom Brennan   Source: The Tampa Tribune (FL)

Title: RESERVIST ACCUSED OF ATTACKING PRIEST WON'T BE CHARGED

Prosecutors will not pursue charges against a Marine reservist accused of beating a Greek Orthodox priest with a tire iron.

Reservist Jasen Bruce said he simply was defending himself from a man who propositioned him and grabbed his genitals.

Mike Sinacore, head of the felony division of the Hillsborough County state attorney's office, said his office reviewed the law, the evidence, the testimony of those involved and the arguments of Bruce's attorney.

It is "evident that we cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Mr. Bruce committed a crime and acted without legal justification," Sinacore said today.

Anti-Muslim/Terrorist Backlash, Credibility Mar 10th. at 12:14:07 am EST

karrie9 (Kenosha, Wisconsin) - Email Me - Web

“During the chase, the suspect called 911 and claimed an Arabic male attempted to rob him and he was going to take him into custody,” a Tampa Police Department news release states. “When officers arrived, the suspect claimed the man was a terrorist." [Web LINK]

In a military-on-top paradigm kind of nation, who are you going to believe? Someone who is different/foreign or someone who represents "our paradigm?" (Line of inquiry not to be mistaken with anti-miliary attitudes.)

False dichotomies affect Pagans/witches/Witches, so pay attention. The story smacks of normalization-as-credible vs. different-as-suspect. It smacks of profiling.

If you're different, the story should interest you. If you love robust functional pluralism, the story should interest you. If you're interested in how profiling might affect people's rights, this story should interest you. If you're interested how America appears to others, the story should interest you.

I didn't see any reference to Paganism in this article.

Possible Misunderstanding Mar 9th. at 9:59:47 pm EST

Ahr-Ohn (Bridgeport, Connecticut) - Email Me

The priest didn't speak fluent english, and might have asked the way to a brothel, not knowing that Florida Law is unforgiving of Trespassers. Meanwhile, this guy with flowing robes accosts an off-duty soldier, in a garage, who only has a tire iron handy.

The guy had been working as an informant, and might have had other things to be nervous about.

Do southern states have different diplomatic advisories?
