We have received many requests for something like this over the past years and now -- with the updated and expanded coding system finally in place -- we are very pleased to announce the launch of the new TWV poetry section!
Ever since humankind first developed self-awareness, we have also wondered about those things beyond ourselves. In the earliest cave art -- scratched, carved or smeared upon the walls long before we developed even the most rudimentary elements of coherent speech -- we behold eerie, strange figures and complex abstract designs floating alongside easily recognizable prey animals and the local hunting parties. Beyond what can be seen and heard, it seems that humankind has always sensed that 'something else' is out there.
From the classical generation to the beat, from the epic and sonnet style to the free verse, poets likewise have thus set their pens and their imaginations to capture -- if only for a moment -- that which is both essentially elusive and yet so very near.
And just as art transcends the mere blending of color and music is more than simply a series of notes strung together, poetry does not remain trapped within its own words and letters.
Poetry is a restless spirit. Poetry roams. Poetry hunts...
Because 'something else' is out there still.
